Dr Spencer, formerly senior scientist for climate studies at NASA, now leads the US science team for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS (AMSRE) on NASAs Aqua satellite. He co-developed the original satellite method for precise monitoring of global temperatures from Earth-orbiting satellites. Hes just the kind of egghead the IPCC claims to represent when it tells us the world is getting dangerously warmer, its mans fault the result of CO2 emissions and it must be urgently addressed. Except Dr Spencer doesnt agree with any of that. He thinks its all nonsense, based on a very elementary error he describes in his new book The Great Global Warming Blunder. I summarise his arguments in this article.

Uh oh, he's just a meteorologist. He's not a real climate scientist, like, say, an Astronomer would be. </sarcasm>

Any Obamanologist can tell you it is just another communist scam to get some OPM.

All global warming, well 99.999999999999999999999999%, comes from our sun. The remainder comes from the rest of the suns in our galaxy and that other one far, far away!
All you have to do is study our jungles to see this...
Especially the under growth!

But we thought ALL scientists had drunk the koolaid of anthropomorphic global warming. If the U N says it, it must be true, right?

Here's an analysis that shows that Man's CO2 contribution to the greenhouse effect is 0.117%.

Spencer has been saying this for a long time. It’s what got him fired from NASA.

If Al Gore had become POTUS,
I don’t think he would have, or even could have,
done as much to push the AGW hoax.
He has two driving motivations -
making himself feel important by saving the erf
and enriching himself through the carbon trading scam.
The first motivation would have been satisfied by being elected, the second might have been more difficult because
of the “blind trust” that his investments would have been in.
Not that I’m saying we’d be better off, mind you.

I think there might be some warming there. Don’t know if it’s global, yet, but it probably is :-)
