The violent left was at it again, doing what it does best… Rioting, smashing windows, blocking firemen from a torched building after their immigration protest yesterday in Santa Cruz. Many in the group were carrying makeshift torches as they marched. 15 businesses were victimized by this group. What started out as a dance rave ended with smashed windows and a burning coffee house.

The violence was initiated from a group holding a rally at the town clock for May Day. The group formed and quickly made their way down Pacific Ave where they started damaging businesses.

Because of the size and violent demeanor of the crowd, Santa Cruz Police officers called for Mutual-Aid backup from all law enforcement agencies in the County. Neighboring officers arrived quickly and began to coordinate with Santa Cruz Officers. This quick response and action was essential in preventing damage to other businesses.

But there also is an undercurrent of racism and anti-immigration sentiment when discussing gang problems. Several speakers at last Tuesday's City Council meeting, where dozens of residents packed the chamber, said they believed illegal immigrants were responsible for the violence and that Santa Cruz's "sanctuary city" status was preventing police from combating gang violence.

Local business can't even go to their City Council meeting and speak up without being called racist by the press??!!

When those business move out or close, and the town becomes another Detroit (which was run by racists for decades who demanded that gangs not be treated badly).....please do not expect out of town "racist" white people to pay even more because Santa Cruz lost its tax base, JUST LIKE DETROIT!
