I thought Turkey had BANNED any search for the ARK. When did their policy change?

In addition to the Gilgamesh epic, a similar story of the Flood is also told in ancient Greek Mythology.

Thanks ... not sure why that list did not materialize for me. It seemed odd that this story had not been posted to FR. At least those who missed it, like myself, will have an opportunity to comment on it.

The FR search function doesn’t do three letter words.

“fresh straw?”
I was thinking the same thing. All that’s missing is steaming dung and a wobbley foal. Who staged this? Marlin Perkins? LOL

According to the Bible, after the earth was flooded and the waters receded, Noah's ark ran aground on a mountain...No, not really. Here's the passage:
Genesis 8:4 (King James Version)
4And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
In Noah's time, 'Ararat' was a kingdom so 'the mountains' was a part of the kingdom. This bit with putting the Ark on Mt. Ararat is like Jonah swallowed by a whale or Jesus born on 25 Dec. Everyone says it but it's just not in the scriptures.

Why does the Book of Mormon include a very literal account of such things as Noah's Ark (Ether 6:7), Adam & Eve, or the Garden of Eden (Alma 42:2)? If Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel story of the languages forming or many of the other things mentioned in the Bible aren't literal (and they aren't by any stretch of the imagination)--neither are the portions of Book of Mormon history relying on these items as literal. Similarly, why did Joseph Smith state that Adam and the Garden of Eden were literally located in Missouri?
Is Noah's Ark also in the mid west?

I read somewhere that the biblical “flood” so to speak was in reality either the Bosphorus Straits that were not open yet suddenly collapsed and created a “flood” so to speak into the Black Sea.

I saw the images just before they were removed by the mods as they are Getty images and prohibited from posting on FR. Please repost the map location. And you can certainly post a link to the photos.

I also pinged the mods for removing the story body as I did not see any reference in the link to the LA Times/Wash Post copyright violation.

Just watched the Discovery channel the other night saying that there is no way they could have built a ship that size 4 thousand years ago. I hope this is Noah’s Ark but you will never convince any atheist or scientist that it is truly the Ark

Just watched the Discovery channel the other nightAs a younger man I gobbled up everything these kinds of outlets put out. I was a rabid National Geographic, Public TV documentary, Popular Science, Smithsonian, Reader's Digest, Time magazine fan. I believed everything and took pride in parroting back all the "facts". After all, these people carried clipboards and wore white lab coats didn't they? As time passed, however, I kept noticing how they kept reversing their "findings". Then I began to notice hidden political agendas. Then I was clued in to the amazing world of government grants and how all that worked.
I have no idea about this latest Noah's ark finding. If I were Noah, I would probably disassemble the ark and use the wood to build houses etc... since after the flood everything had been swept away. But as for the Discovery Channel...I wouldn't put much stock in anything they say.

The video was stunning. This is the first credible video I've ever seen of Noah's Ark. Now, I've followed these types of claims before without getting conclusive evidence. If the video is not a hoax, it's absolutely empirical evidence that the Ark of Noah has been found.
If you think we are living in the end "End Times", finding Noah's Ark in what are called 'the days of Noah', this makes perfect sense. In the later days knowledge shall increase, man will run to and fro without finding satisfaction.
