During a discussion on O'Reilly about Bill Clinton's recent attempts to compare the Tea Party movement to the impact of conservative talk radio like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, etc. as having caused Timothy McVay to bomb the Oklahomea Federal building, Dick Morris suggested that Bill should zipper it because Clinton had indicated that this is the first time that he has divulged a comment by Bill that he had to renominate Janet Reno for another term as Attorney General or she would go public about Waco.

...a snake only strikes when it deems it necessary. April 19th is in the our minds as WE know it (twice)...today’s history books tell a much different story, if at all. Clinton HAS TO set things right according to him.
Yup.

Why would anyone trust Morris’ judgment or word on anything?
Nail. Square. Head.
The reason the .govs had to go in and exterminate the witnesses and destroy the compound was to destroy the evidence of their calculated malfeasance. ATF was wanting a gun fight, got their ass handed to them, and when they briefed the FBI of the completely illegal and unconstitutional raid (along with the protests of the Texas Rangers), initiated the genocide of a "religious cult".
I still think there are dozens, if not hundreds of officials that should be hanging from the lightpole from Ft. Hood all the way to Mt. Carmel.
I completely agree. Fifteen years have passed and only NOW Morris thinks this is of historical or political importance? I ain't buying. Basically, I think Morris can say this with relative impunity. It's like saying: "Have you stopped beating your wife today?" There is no solid response.
“So what did Morris say Reno was going to tell?”
When pressed by Hannity, he said he didn’t know specifically how Reno threatened Clinton, but that Bubba told him “If I don’t renominate her she’s gonna turn against me on Waco.”
If nothing else, this might remind Clinton he pursues this OKC/Tea Party connection crap at his peril.
” I learned the County Sheriff, unless otherwise provide by an amendment, has complete legal power in the County hes elected to.”
Goes farther than that. Sheriff Mack in Arizona (I believe) sued the federal government and the USSC ruled in 1997 that the feds cannot require local officials to carry out the mandates of federal law. During Katrina, a couple of sheriffs posted armed guards to keep the FEMA gun grabbers out of their counties.
Another federal judge in Utah ruled that county commissioners and Indian tribes can pass specific laws nullifying regulations imposed by the federal
fascist bureaucracies.
EVERYONE OF THESE TRAITERS SHOULD BE IN JAIL!
Great flashback. If you do a remake, don’t forget the last boney finger Slick stuck in Chris Wallace’s face, too...lol.
bump!
My thinking is that this is timed to deflate what Pres Clinton just said about Tea Partiers. Perfect timing, especially if it is true and Bill has to let it stand.
Like others are saying, ought to be a very interesting news day, given this exchange between ex-Pres Bill and ex-advisor Dick.
Thanks.
Hmmm.
“or she would go public about Waco.”
I wonder what’s been hiding.
Don't be surprised at ALL by that. GHW Bush was one of the most anti-gun presidents of the last century, and that's saying a lot. Under Bush 41, the ATF clowns were stomping people's kittens, busting down doors in the middle of the night, culminating with Ruby Ridge. Remember, it was Bush 41 who banned the further importation of machine guns (Class III arms) and the manufacture of magazines holding over 15 rounds.
Sheriff Mack is correct. He wrote a little book about it. It's worth reading: The County Sheriff--America's Last Hope.
Just as Bush was getting heat about the cocaine thing, some new revelations came out via the Texas Rangers (state cops). After that, they left Bush alone.
Also presumes Ted Baxter can read.
Thank you for the clarification.
What will always be very, very creepy to me was how quickly the compound was leveled and hauled away after the incident. No chance, not one, for third party forensics or inquiry. The official version of the massacre was signed and sealed.
