...Beaverton Middle School teacher Jason Levin's group wants to infiltrate the Tea Party to discredit the organization. But since Levin's name has been associated with the "Crash the Tea Party" Web site, he has been harassed by people who say they belong to that group.
Levin told KATU-TV that his phone has been ringing around the clock and his answering machine is recording threats...

And no one at AP even had the sense to think, "hmmm, somethings funny here."
LOL! Perhaps that was his true intention: created a “crash the tea party website” and the post threats to yourself from supposed tea partiers. Yup, that will work!
Tell them it’s actually a casting call for the latest Mel Brooks movie.
No, this page hasn't been hacked. I created this page in the first place with the express purpose of demonstrating to my misguided liberal friends what awaits this week if they decide to crash the Tea Party events. As far as I can tell, the Crash The Tea Party web site is as real as it is ridiculous.
In short, they were not smart enough to create a Facebook page so we went ahead and created one and then proceeded to fill it with Tea Party folks before ramping it up. At the time, the actual web site had about 6 users.
The result: There has been almost zero planning and coordination for the effort by the left. Instead, there has been endless flames, sniping and debating. The web site has been flooded by conservatives to the point that it crashes on a regular basis.
I am actually shocked at how little the liberal members of the group tried to actually organize and plan the crash activities. I guess they need SEUI, ACORN or OFA to print up pretty signs for them and provide planning and buses to be successful - unlike the Tea Partiers that organize themselves, pay for their own supplies and get themselves out to events.
I am less surprised that NONE of the liberals tried to argue against the Tea Party on any of the actual issues. Nothing defending the deficit or debt. Nothing about how wonderful the new healthcare mandate it. Nothing about cap and trade or the bail outs or taking over GM. It seems that they really can't argue on the merits so they are left to a single strategy: Demonize the Tea Partiers personally.
So I will take this opportunity to disabuse you of the stereotypes and mis-characterizations about the Tea Party. I am a volunteer and have worked to help stage Tea Party events in my home town. I started and manage the Operation: Can You Hear Us Now protests through Facebook and have worked with many Tea Party members. I am a professional, educated, suburban parent.
In my experience, the Tea Party is much more diverse than the left would like to characterize. I have met Republicans, Libertarians, Independents and even a couple of Democrats. Some are Pro-Life, some are Pro-Choice. Some are religious, many are not. Some, like me, are actually supporters of Gay Marriage.
The Tea Party as a whole is not extreme right. If anything, they are more diverse on social issues than the traditional right. But we are completely aligned on the issues of liberty, capitalism and the role of government. We are not racist and many of us were proud to see this country elect an African American president - although we were concerned about the substance of his agenda. But you didn't see the uprising during the campaign. It only happened after too many bail outs, the take over of GM and most importantly - the outrageous stimulus plan.
This stimulus plan was quite simply the government class declaring war on the private sector working class. It added a trillion $ of debt that we, our children and grandchildren will have to pay in order to save government jobs. It did nothing to save private sector jobs. So it was a massive grab of wealth from one class in power from the other who was not.
Add the health care disaster and you have a huge, principled public movement. So liberals, if you want to argue about how successful the stimulus plan has been - let's rock. If you want to defend the healthcare mandate that comes without a public option - I am here. But if you want to keep throwing out slanderous, incorrect and ineffective personal attacks on Tea Parties - show up in person on Thursday so we can look you in the eye.

This guy also has a small business on the side. Click here. Sure hope he doesn't mix his school job stuff with his own business stuff?
This linked blog's responses sure do mention some items that this guy could be breaking laws and policies. Click here.
Another possibility would be to carry signs that are racist or highly offensive but have organizations like ANSWER or crashtheteaparty.org on the bottom of the sign just big enough to clearly see on TV cameras. (This will take a bit of experimentation.) And then act like Levin, completely over the top. That is, infiltrate the infiltrators.
He figured he was in an echo chamber and that he could plot a Stalinist-Goebbels-Alinsky inspired smear of the tea parties and then laugh as the MSM reports about those "vile and violent and hate filled" tea partiers.
But his plot was exposed. And then his identity was exposed (he's no "Ben Franklin" as he claimed to be when he registered the domain name).
And now he shifts his talking point to "innocent victim", continuing his smear of the tea parties.
When conservatives did this (think Protest Warrior), they did not PRETEND to be liberals, they just made statements that were accurate AND thought provoking WITH full disclosure that they were PROTEST WARRIOR protesters and NOT members of Code Pink, ANSWER, etc.:
Not worth the effort. The MSM never acknowledged these LEGITIMATE Left Wingers at so called "peace" and "anti-war" protests over 8 long years when Bush was in the White House:
(Left Wingers in California confirmed the Left Wing status of these anarchists)
With the Left, they’ve moved on from PHONY SOLDIERS to PHONY TEA PARTIERS.
At worst, that's an Obama-approved technique of "getting in the faces" of those who disagree.
How cynical is the AP?
You've got a guy who was, by his own admission and deeds, running a political dirty tricks operation.
They're accepting at face value his assertion that he is being threatened.
A guy who has demonstrably lied for political advantage, will lie for political advantage again.
It's not a question of whether anyone should believe Levin...that train has left the station.
What should concern AP? Their own credibility...although I guess that train has left the station, too.
From the article;
Tea Party members have accused him of doing his political work during school hours, but Levin and the school district say his activism has happened on his own time.
Many people have called the weasel Levin school in Beaverton. They have said that his actions should cost him his job. The school has defended him, like any union group would do.
On the Lars Larson show yesterday (a PDX talk show) someone wrote in and said the code from the Crash the TP website had been decoded. They said that it had been constructed on school computers and during school hours. This filthy POS Levin needs to loose his job.
I dont know how much water this story holds, but if it is true, he needs to be kicked to the curb where he belongs.
Let me guess—they spat at him and called him racist and homophobic names.
“teabagger” is a homophobic name. And it was Anderson Cooper who first started using it on air to slur the tea party movement.
Since he teaches electronic media, I wonder if he had the kids do it as a class assignment.
1. Try to make respectful contact.
2. Share your concern that their behavior might not be in the best interest of the movement. See how they respond.
3. Make signs with "NOT ONE OF US" and an arrow and walk beside them at an appropriate distance.
4. Recruit others around you by pointing and starting a chant: "In-Fil-TRAITOR, In-Fil-TRAITOR."
5. Come early and talk to senior law enforcement detailed to the demonstration. Introduce yourself. Thank them for being there. Explain that you intend to show a peaceful presense in support of a more Constitutional government. Ask if they have any information about problems you might run into. They may have more specific information than you do. Inform them that you are aware of groups who have announced intentions to infiltrate, and try to make us look bad before the press and the law. Tell them that you will be working to identify, isolate, and peacefully neutralize infiltrators. Ask how you can can work in cooperation with law officers on this. Thank them for their time.
6. Similarly, approach media persons and explain about expected infiltrators and their motives, share website addresses of known organizers of infiltrators. Caution them against falling for the possible manipulations of a few who don't represent our values.
7. Take pictures including license plates of the vehicles in which they leave.
If (5.) and (6.) aren't your strength, talk to event organizers about these possibilities.
Great tips! Thanks!
I want him kicked to the curb. I
Democrats Infiltrate Tea Parties, Seek Imposters to Pose as Racists (April 14, 2010)
RUSH: We had a couple of conflicting stories here. First from The Oregonian. The Oregonian, this is of course in Oregon, their blog. "Jason Levin, the Portland man who caused a ruckus over his plans to 'infiltrate' Tea Party protests in an aim to discredit them, teaches in a Beaverton middle school and now faces an investigation by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission." You see, folks, even teachers are regulated in this unfettered economy, as the regime describes it. "Melody Hanson, the commission's director of professional practices, said Wednesday that the agency opened an investigation because 'there was enough concern that there was some neglect of duty' on the part of Levin." He's skipping out on his teacher duties to run this website advising people how to infiltrate the tea parties. "Levin teaches in the media lab at Conestoga Middle School, although he described himself in an interview earlier this week with Talking Points Memo as a technology consultant. Levin started the website called Crash the Tea Party that he said was aimed at encouraging people --" you know what it is. "Both the school district and the teachers licensing commission received calls protesting Levin's actions and saying it was inappropriate for teachers."
Then we go to the Government-Run Associated Press: "A group planning to crash the Tea Party on tax day is led by an Oregon teacher, who has been threatened since his picture and personal phone number were posted on the Internet. Beaverton Middle School teacher Jason Levin's group wants to infiltrate the Tea Party to discredit the organization."
Do you realize, folks, what we are talking about here? We have actual mainstream press reports of this guy's attempt to infiltrate a genuine legitimate citizens group to discredit it and it's reported as though it's a ho-hum everyday occurrence, with a stamp of approval from every media outlet reporting it. Oh, yeah, just another day in America. A bunch of agitators are going to infiltrate a decent bunch of citizens groups and try to discredit them, and when they do, we're going to report that the citizens group is a bunch of racists. So the teacher's board is investigating the guy for dereliction of duty, essentially. And yet the AP's got a sob story here on, poor guy, being harassed by people who say they belong to the tea party. I don't believe this for a minute. I think he's harassing himself. He's probably making phone calls to himself or having his friends do it and saying it's the tea party.
I'll tell you something, Mr. Levin, the people in the tea party don't care a rat's rear end about you. The tea party could not care less about you or anybody else doing what you're trying to do. You are not on their minds. These are not the kind of people that call you. They don't even want to go through the trouble of finding out your phone number, Mr. Levin. You are as insignificant as an amoeba to them. They're not going to waste valuable time trying to find out where you live or what your phone number is to call you up. So this is part of the subterfuge as well....
love it!!!!!
Thanks for the ping.
