When Obama bows, he avoids eye contact with another world leader or figure. Obama may feel like an imposter in certain situations, and this may be an instinctive defense. Now, why he bowed in the past to the mayor of Tampa, I don’t know. Maybe he felt she had that “mom looking right through you” look in her eyes.
