Polish president dies in air crash
A plane carrying Lech Kaczynski, the Polish president, has crashed near Smolensk airport in western Russia, killing all on board, Russian officials have reported.
Polish officials confirmed on Saturday that Kaczynski was on board the flight with his wife, as well as Slawomir Skrzypek, the president of Poland's central bank, Andrzej Kremer, the deputy foreign minister and the army chief of staff.
The crash occurred about 1.5km from Smolensk airport in foggy conditions.

you express my thoughts completely! It is a tragedy for all Americans as well and deeply heartbreaking for all who love freedom. The Lord bless and keep all Poland.
In a world that operates pretty much at random, coincidences are suspect. Half the time they are not a coincidence at all.
Obama had just recently broke another promise, this time to Poland by informing them that they weren’t going to get the promised missile shield to protect them. Offley convenient that the President doesn’t now have to have that very public fight over the issue with the Polish President.
It does appear to be pilot error.
God help the Polish nation in the days and weeks ahead. There are always nefarious beings ready to take advantage of a tragedy like this.

BTTT...this is terrible. Prayers for the people of Poland...our friends.
RT was reporting from another pilot who said that the plane was somehow set up with what appears to be a possible incompatable system...which could also have to do with the landing.
Two years ago the Pres. was encouraged to obtain a new plane but he liked this plane and put it off. The facts that the pilot attempted four times to land in very foggy weather says alot to. Two standbyers saw the plane go down and said the fog was really bad.
Ironically, the Poles were going to Russia to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre.
Although there are wicked people out there in the world, the sad fact is that humans can and do screw up. So I just can’t sign on to a conspiracy theory as of this time. That could change if new information comes to light.

My Grandmother was an immigrant from Poland. But this goes so much further than Poland. We’ve lost a friend and God knows we need as many friends as we can get right now. So, it’s our loss as well.

Agreed - Russians probably had less a hand in this than
the pilot’s desire to succeed at a difficult landing.
Also, suspicion of the ATC in ordering a divert to another
airport may also have played a role. Long and difficult
history between these two countries, who knows what the
pilot was thinking, maybe even the President himself
ordered that the plane not divert, but land at the Smolensk field.
My thoughts run along those same lines. I agree with your focus.

Knowing how Obama can be arrogant, he’ll send the remaining Polish government a DVD on the Katyn Massacre.

I guess the suspicions are justified — I know mine are WAY more of a “guarded suspicion” though.
