Polish president dies in air crash
A plane carrying Lech Kaczynski, the Polish president, has crashed near Smolensk airport in western Russia, killing all on board, Russian officials have reported.
Polish officials confirmed on Saturday that Kaczynski was on board the flight with his wife, as well as Slawomir Skrzypek, the president of Poland's central bank, Andrzej Kremer, the deputy foreign minister and the army chief of staff.
The crash occurred about 1.5km from Smolensk airport in foggy conditions.

How easy would it have been for someone to have tampered with the airport’s ILS. Wouldn’t the pilots have been heavily reliant on that system in the described weather conditions. With ex-KGB Putin overseeing the investigation, we may never know the truth.

Cell phones can be made to "not work" remotely. It's been a facet of our domestic counterterrorist efforts for several years.

The people of Poland will recognize the ill attempt of gee-sorry by ‘O’. I’m hoping that President Bush will navigate a way to offer condolences and perhaps be present at the funeral. That is, unless somehow ‘O’ would forbid it.
