In May 2001, we went to Phoenix, Arizona, to report on the porous Southern border. As part of that program, I interviewed Sen. John McCain and told him that the only way the border could be secured was to use U.S. troops. The senator disagreed:

SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, R-ARIZ.: I do not favor using troops because they are not trained for it. They don't have the kind of qualifications necessary. I have strongly favored us using all the technical equipment that our military has including satellites, including aircraft and other technical means.

Well now Mr. McCain has changed his mind, finally. But it took a terrible tragedy.
Arizona rancher Robert Krentz, 58, was found shot to death on his own property. Mr. Krentz leaves behind a wife, three kids and two grandchildren. His family had been ranching in Arizona since 1907.
Police suspect the murder was committed by an illegal alien who then fled back to Mexico. Authorities say they followed the man's footprints for about 20 miles until the trail stopped at the border.

This is the same crap the lady Congresscritter from Texas was spouting on Fox this morning: “We need to give our military troops police training, the wall didn’t work, we need sensors and aerial surveillance.” For what? How on earth are border guards (of whatever stripe) going to get to where the migrantes, coyotes or narcotraficantes are “sensed” in time to do anything about it?
Lord, these people piss me off.
Colonel, USAFR
ARIZ.: I do not favor using troops because they are not trained for it. They don’t have the kind of qualifications necessary.
If they qualified with a rifle they’re qualified.
Not trained? They do a pretty good job protecting the borders of other countries.
McCain is not a “sick joke”.
He’s a good man ... lost in a forever-messy institution.
You beat me to it.
You title is almost correct. McLame is an every day of every month fool.
Benedict Arnold was a “good man” too...right up to the moment he betrayed his country!
So McCain is busy loading them on buses this moring ???
What “training” does a soldier need to stop some guy from crossing a line? All you need is a rather large gun pointed at the prospective border crosser(and future child rapist and identity theft practitioner), and a sharply barked order for him to desist from crossing and that's it.
I loathe McCain as much as the Kenyan. He stabs conservatives in the back at every turn. He and Graham-nesty are disgusting people..
“If McCain does win re-election, the most dangerous territory on Earth will be between McCain and his friends across the aisle. He will trample anything and anyone to get back to his friends.”
Spot on, Tom!
“So McCain is busy loading them on buses this morning ???”
R O T F L M A O !!
If he loses the primary, he’s a lame duck. If he manages to win re-election, he’ll nurse a grudge.
Either way, McInsane will attack conservatives.
The only difference is whether we have to deal with another six years of his RINO treachery or whether it’s limited to six months.
He didn't have 2 years of a far left 0bama regime, an 0bamcare bill rammed through against the wishes of most Americans, and the Tea Parties to deal with. It's a whole new ball game now. McCain is in trouble. No question about.
“Incumbency is difficult to beat, especially from within the party”
If that were the case, Crist wouldn't be 20 points behind Rubio in Florida right now.

April Fools!
I say take those helicopters out of Fort Hood and run them up and down the borders. Fly low enough to wound anybody crossing over. Shoot for the feet. We don’t want to kill anybody, just make it real hard to keep walking.
Yup---but not before he gives them absentee ballots.....filled in with the names of Democrat candidates.
