President Obama is splintering America. The passage of Obamacare was a historic victory for liberal governance. Yet, its true cost may be that it triggers the eventual breakup of the country.

The United States will merely cease to be united for purposes of Federal interstate and interacial/ethnic exploitation; they will be United to pursue common interests of trade and defense...but not nearly so as we are now.
I am definitely no fan of Obama and he is no doubt a Marxist but it isn’t just him. This has been coming for sometime. There is a vast cultural split that is unbridgeable except by force. We have not really been an ‘us’ since shortly after WWII. It was thrown into overdrive in the mid 60’s and has finally reached a pinnacle.

Take it back further than that to at least the American Civil war.
The author implies a future that’s kind of like Jericho, only with socialist policies replacing the nukes as the cause celebre of division.
When I hear of the first state to secede, I am packing and leaving to live there.
This cracked me up... my daughter comes home from middle school yesterday and said there is a joke going around (a political joke is the new hot thing?? In MIDDLE SCHOOL?)
“Wanna hear a joke?”
“Sure”
“OBAMA!”
That’s it. That’s the joke.
Me too.
We could build a wall to keep them in and then charge admission to come and take our children and grandchildren to see what American communists really looked like...
LOL. Out of the mouths of babes!!! LOL
Thanks for posting this most-excellent article.
In a morbid way, it is fascinating to watch how the programs FDR created metastasized into this cancer killing our nation. LBJ’s huge expansion of what FDR created put us on the road to ruin and it was accelerated by many Republican presidents the past 40 years.
As Kuhner says, we now have two factions that absolutely despise each other. Far worse, we put one of the those factions in charge of educating our children which is accelerating our demise. It would appear we are in a positive feedback loop now where each new federal giveaway is adding huge numbers to the parasite class which vote Dem and lead to more federal freebies being extracted from the sweat of the fewer and fewer remaining workers.
Kuhner’s analogy to the 1830s and 1840s, the prelude to the Civil War, is very apt. It would seem there is no way out of this dilemma and we are headed for a final crack-up.
The libs of course tried to make fun of the idea-calling the proposed country Jesusland, but aside from that, the idea isn't at all repulsive. I think that the working conservative base of America could get along one he11 of a lot easier/better alone, than it can having to deal daily with the whiny, hand-out, liberal albatross around our political/economic/social necks. It would require a move for me, as well as a divestiture of some property in another liberal mecca, but I'd do it in a minute in order to live in a country like the U.S. was designed to be.
Here's the map.
I ain't gettin' any younger, if we're going to have unpleasantness, now might not be a bad time..
Out of the mouths of babes... Made my day. Perhaps there is hope for the next generation...
I don’t know if I want to keep this nation whole. I know I want the liberal parts gone but that could be done by getting rid of any and all government spending at a personal level. No grants, welfare, tax breaks, etc.
I have never read and heard so much debate and discussion on secession in my life outside of a history book. This is really becoming a concern.
TX first, then OK. Been eyeballing real estate over that way since the election. Of course if TX would invade and liberate NM, then I could stay and save alot in real estate transaction costs.
Karl Marx theorized that capitalism would eventually fail because the capitalist class would keep seeking to extract more and more surplus wealth from the workers, eventually finding nothing left to extract. The great irony is that this is exactly what is going to happen with socialism: The parasitic socialist class keeps trying to extract more and more taxes from the productive capitalists, and they are increasingly finding that there is little left to extract. Atlas will shrug.
