Health Care Reform Horror stories (call to action)

What we need is a central point for collecting and distributing the coming horror stories of Obama care i.e.,

- Small and large businesses that have to lay off workers because of the tax increase and Health Care cost increases.

- People forced to pay for Insurance that now cannot afford other things they use to buy.

- People that are still not getting the coverage that was promised to them under this bill. - Individual increases in Premiums and how that impacts other areas of spending.

- Individual stories of cost increases experienced in purchasing items and how they are coping.

- Increased waiting times due to the amount of newly covered people with no increase in Health care professionals.

- Any specific examples of Companies that now charge health care surcharges for their goods and services (hidden taxes).

- Privacy breaches due to the electronic medical record law.

- Specific reports that make it clear Democrats did not even read the bill before supporting it.

A seperate website would be nice but even a sidebar on FR may help. This will help Republicans to gather specific examples of this massive Failure.

We held out as long as we could but last summer when she turned 90 we had to apply for Medicaid for a relative because she needs home health aides and its very difficult to transport her for regular doc visits (feel like a chump for not doing it earlier now that being responsible means ...well...you were a chump). Anyways, I’ll have some stories from the visiting nurses and aides by next week.

Here’s a question from a mother of children that have problems:

What does this mean for people on SSI that have state medicaid? I have three boys, on SSI, that are on state medicaid that pays for their medications. If we are forced to pay for them, not only would we go broke, lose our house, our vehicles, everything we have, but we also eventually lose the boys - as their medication is a requirement for them to live.

Cystagon - the specialty med that every one of them takes - is (at a minimum) $100 a month for one child. The rest of the medications are easily another $200 per child on top of that. Then there are the blood draws each month, Dr’s visits, and possibly the growth hormone shot both Chris and Marcus may need to take. This doesnt include any x-rays or ultrasounds that are needed.

So if someone can tell me how this government run health care system is going to effect them I would be greatful.

This is not going to work, because much of the Obamacare is gradual and won’t kick in until after 2014 — so then it can backfire, as in “see, no horror stories, Obamacare is great”.

notice posted in heart specialist office...says as of march 1 pay to the doctor was cut 21% so he may not be able to see medicare patients in the future due to overhead increases. That was before the healthcare bill...if they dump more into the system with less care and meds its going to be big pain. in the meantime congress continues to pork out.

Please see my post 5 — I wasn’t trying to be negative, but I think I am correct in what I said.

HOWEVER, what would be a good idea is to collect the information on the IMPACT of what’s in the bill, to have allthe information in one place.

As an example, this article:

AP : Say, guess what we just found in ObamaCare !

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2480465/posts

from HotAir:

“Readers will have to scroll far down to discover that the elimination of a key tax break that kept retirees on company prescription-medication plans will mean dumping millions of seniors onto Medicare — and that the AP ignored it until now”

Not to mention the exclusion of many of our military. This is a slap in the face to those that served with honor.
Health Care Reform Update: The new national healthcare law will help many veterans who are ineligible for DOD or VA care, but missing in the legislation was language that would clearly protect all military Tricare and VA healthcare programs. Buried in the 2,400-page bill were four lines of text that only recognized Tricare for Life and veterans’ healthcare programs under chapter 17, Title 38, as being accepted as minimum essential coverage under the new law. There was no mention of other Tricare programs or other Title 38 recipients - dependents, widows or children. The VFW for the past week has been working with Congress to fix the new law with clear language that recognizes all DOD and VA healthcare programs. Leading the efforts in Congress are House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) and ranking member Buck McKeon (R-Calif.), House VA Committee ranking member Steve Buyer (R-Ind.), Senate VA Committee Chairman Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii) and ranking member Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), and Senate Armed Services Personnel Subcommittee Chairman Jim Webb (D-Va.). With Congress set to recess this weekend, it is imperative that we keep them to their promise to protect the integrity and viability of the hard earned healthcare systems our nation’s veterans, military and their families deserve. We will continue to monitor the provisions offered to the new law.
A VFW press release is at http://www.vfw.org/index.cfm?fa=news.newsDtl&did=5422.

So right now Obamacare is just about raising taxes, putting people out of work, and regulating insurance companies such that there are no pre-existing conditions (which will drive up premiums and, in a way, is another tax).

It's just a tax increase and a job killer.

Bring back the misery index.

How about the fact that the freeloaders are ALREADY going to doctors’ offices and expecting free services...

Watch the Consumer Price Index to see if there’s a jump when the taxes on businesses hit - you should see it in the cost of products. This will ripple through the economy, making us less competitive in the global marketplace. It could trigger another round of business closures and layoffs.

Good idea. Also, do you know if there is a website that lists all the bribes threats ect. that were needed to pass Obamacare? From the Louisiana purchase to Stupak and his family being threatened to the Massa incident.

No but we need a clearinghouse for all this relevant info and to use as a link to educate the public.
