Please check out the provision for a Commissioned Corps and Ready Reserve Corps. in the healthcare bill. I don't know what it has to do with healthcare but it sounds an awful lot like Obama just got his own personal militia.
http://democrats.senate.gov/reform/patient-protection-affordable-ca...
it starts on page 1312.

It sure has a military sound to it though. I had to figure out if this was talking about our armed forces reserve component somehow.

They might DECLARE martial law, but IMPOSING it will be a whole ‘nother story. With the country as politically divided as it is right now, declaration of martial law would be a declaration of war on the people. It’s only martial LAW if it’s obeyed, and it won’t be. When/if shooting starts it will be real mess. I personally know cops and military people that will be with us on this. Some, of course, won’t. Some will simply go home and refuse to take sides. How will people know who is who?

Section 203 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 204) is amended to read as follows:The Public Health Service is considered a Uniformed Service. But I guess they haven't had a reserve component, like the others including the Coast Guard do. This seems to be setting one up.
Remember "Jocelyn Elders", well the new SG,VADM Regina M. Benjamin is in the same mold, maybe a bit younger, and definitely cuter, but no slimmer, and she's going to be the enforcer for Lady Obama's anti obesity push.
New Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, center, holds the Surgeon General's seal, during a handover ceremony with her predecessor former Surgeon General Richard Carmona, right, in Washington, Monday, Jan. 11, 2010.
See Propaganda Video
At least she's not pushing condoms on national TV, not yet anyway.

This was going on for a while. from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Not the same thing. Maybe slightly similar in concept. But this "Reserve Corps" of the Public Health Service sounds more like it's modeled on the Reserve components of the Armed Forces, including Coast Guard.

What is this doing in a Health care bill and why did no one report it before? It's a Reserve Corps of the Public Health Service. But it probably should have been in it's own bill.
Of course when all the insurance companies, private hospitals and some Doctor's practices go tits up, and people have to go to "Public" hospitals, well BO will just call up the reserve "corpse".

Go to med school with any tuition assistance, be subjected to compulsory service for twice as long as schooling. Same as military medical types (docs and dentists) who go to med school on Uncle's nickle.
It's also not much different that service academy grads do. although IIRC, that is 1 for 1.
You'd prefer they get the schooling for nothing?

Ready Reserve Corps..
in the armed forces we have an Active component and a Reserve componet.
Within the reserve component we have active duty reservists, and inactive duty reservists. Some are in drilling units and others are in a Ready Reserve status.
This smacks of a similar type set up.

So, Im sorry, but I dont believe you when you say that you would have killed an SS soldier. You would have been just like all the Germans who told themselves that Hitler wouldnt, Hitler COULDNT be THAT bad! Yes, but that was the "good germans". The Jews, if they had a tradition of resistance, which they did not then have, would have seen it a bit differently. The Jews, for the most part, had no guns, we do.

We're looking at a few fed loans and have to decide in a couple weeks to accept them or not. If this is the case, I'd rather mortgage the house than get them mixed up in this. The house won't be enough but we'll cross that bridge when it comes. Wonder if it'll be retroactive Consider the military medical corps of the various services. Ssme payback deal. Maybe better pay while in med school, maybe the same. But at the end, and while in med school, real military officers, wearing the same uniform as the rest of their service branch, just with different insignia/badges. They even wear ACUs/ABU and whatever the Marines and Navy call their camo utility uniform. Sometimes with a white coat over them. :)
Of course you also get the chance of practicing where bullets are flying and IEDs/Bombs are going off.

So, for 8 years of school you might be an indentured servant for 16 years!?! Oh, yeah, lots of people will get into medicine under that regime. LOL No, they only count the 4 years of medical school, making it 8 years. This is the same deal the military offers would be doctors and dentists. But of course you are practicing during that period, and essentially doing internship and residency. You make it to private practice about the same time, or just a bit latter. But you're debt free. Not a Bad Deal.
Other than the chance of getting shot or hit by an IED, which is small for medical types, military docs probably have better working conditions, and certainly have more worthwhile patients.
Of course knowing Obummer, he'll probably merge the military medical corps with the public health service.

The bad deal comes when you finally repay your debt and start private practice. Then you get the 21% cut in Medicare reimbursements (which a lot of doctors already have problems with) and an army of bureaucrats pulling your strings in every direction.
"Use this procedure." "Don't use that procedure." "This med is approved that med is not." "See this number of patients." "You can't reject any patient." "These tests are mandated in all cases." "We won't approve that test for those cases."

Either they sneaked it in at the last minute or the nobody really read the entire thing. This is a coup. Face it. We have Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Castro and Chavez all wrapped up into one skinny, slimy, pockmarked face, illegitimate bastard in the WH.
