One Thing That's 100% Guaranteed: The Healthcare Bill Will NEVER Be Repealed
Joe Weisenthal
Mar. 22, 2010, 9:36 AM
Already Republicans plan on introducing a bill this week to repeal last night's historic healthcare vote.
Obviously that's going nowhere.
But looking out, Republicans will probably try to run on repeal in the runup until November. It's possible that will play okay at the ballot (we don't know) but anyone who thinks this is a realistic prospect is smoking something illegal.
First of all, to repeal the vote would be just as difficult legislatively as passing healthcare was, so just think of how hard that was. Republicans would need 60 pro-repeal votes in the Senate to defeat a Democratic filibuster. And remember, they'd need a President who wouldn't veto the bill (i.e. not Obama or any Democrat).
But even that's putting too fine a point on it. Here's the real story, and it gets down to the fact that this new bureaucratic superstructure is now permanently ossified into our federal government.

The author is right. Congress itself will never repeal this. Even if the GOP had overwhelming majorities. They have a strong history of pandering, too, only at a slightly lower level. There is no cause for optimism, and only a slight hope that the Supreme Court will begin doing their duty which they have been neglecting to do all along. This whole government monstrosity should have been dismantled by the courts ages ago.
If the Elder Race of Men can defeat the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx, we can repeal this monstrosity ...
If we do things right this bill will be rendered ineffectual. Such as the 15 state attorney generals who are suing to block the insurance mandate. With no mandate KenyanKommieKare is dead because that money conveyor belt grinds to a halt. That conveyor belt that takes money out your pocket and gives it to KommieKare stooges (gov’t employees) to spend (gross favoritism) on their family and friends
This same kind of favoritism and bribes goes on in SS offices, so I have been told. Such as to get a disability claim in. I have never been in an SS office
The author is full of shit. Sure, it will be tough if not impossible to repeal it. To listen to him, I guess we may as not try anything. Prohibition took 12 years to repeal, and it was even a constitutional amendment. We have to at least try. Sheesh.
If you re-read my post, we’re in the same choir.
I have an acquaintance who, knowing that he was going to declare bankruptcy, maxed out his credit lines in order to keep juggling things for awhile. He was into banks for over $160k and was going to show them a thing or two.
The USA in 2010 just did the same thing as that sleazebag did.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but the character of Americans has devolved during the last 40 years or so. Things that were nearly reflexive long ago are now looked at as quaintly archaic. I see zero reason for optimism. Zero.
They would not be doing it for themselves, they would be doing it to benefit their Democrat Party, for generations to come.
They can always benefit from am Ambassadorship, Cabinet Post, or other perks.
I think it will.
This guy is an idiot.
The Republicans can repeal Mengelecare through "the Slaughter rule" and "reconciliation". The Republicans are slow, to be sure, but they usually learn something every time the rats find a lower sewer to muck around in.
Yeah. He would be a Republican today, albeit a RINO, a Republican nonetheless.
I thought that I read somewhere on FR that Linseed said if DictatorCare is rammed through, R support for any amnesty legislation would be off the table, words to that effect. I wonder if for once, he meant it. Just call me “Charlie Brown”.
Note to Business Insider: Mind your OWN “business.” You obviously do not know jack about the American people. To quote a recent dictate by a less than honorable individual...
“We will go through the gate. If the gate is closed, we will go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we will pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, we will parachute in...”
But we are going to get this OBAMANATION repealed for the American people, for their own personal health and economic security.
Get it through your thick skulls: Freedom NEVER surrenders, it may be set back a step or two, but it NEVER surrenders.
And here, a quote from another who knew the awesome burden of defending freedom during its darkest hour:
“...we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender...”
Wait till you see what employers will be doing about this. Presently they will be fined $750 per person if they don’t provide health care for their workers. My plan costs at least double that ...... wanna guess how quickly companies cut health care for their employees? They’ll save lots of money just by paying the yearly fine.
Yes, I believe he said it would be very hard to get it passed. I can see him getting pressure from the Republican leadership to stop this amnesty garbage.
Sen. Joe McCarthy, was right and for more than the past 40 years, socialism and communism has extended is talons into the entertainment (propaganda) industry, academia, and most destructive the Democrat Party.
What has recently taken place in Texas dealing with books that will soon be entering the school system, and Lyz Cheney, calling the Lawyers defending the terrorists exactly what they are, and all the Home schooling taking place, and the American patriots taking to the streets to such a large number, make me more optimistic that I have ever been, Conservative America is engaged.
