Bill passes, becomes law, Dems get slaughtered like never before, Bill struck down as unconstitutional by SCOTUS (very likely IMO).
It's really a win-win. Discuss.
Yes
They will use this same technique to pass “Amensty” in the next couple weeks. Twenty to thirty million new ‘RAT “voters” and StupakCare recipients in November.
McCain-Feingold just took a huge hit by the same SCOTUS that you lament. We have 4 solidly in our corner and Kennedy is probably on board as well.
I'm selling off at the opening bell. I have a pretty damn' GOOD idea what the market's are going to do tomorrow after this fiasco.....
I don’t think that would take down the whole bill though.
We got to see Obama beg, repeatedly, for passage of this bill. We got to see him put his whole presidency on the line, repeatedly.
This law is going to be the cause of ongoing misery of a type that Americans won’t stand for. Misery on a personal level, experienced by millions, every day. Anguish as they pay more and more for less and less. Fury as they watch their “public servants,” who are now their masters and, effectively, owners, get care and treatment for themselves and their families that are denied everyone else. Ordinary people are going to see their loved ones go to an early grave because of this.
The Democrats own it lock, stock and barrel. It’s going to become their brand and their albatross.
“Bill struck down as unconstitutional by SCOTUS “
Exactly what we said about Campaign Finance Reform
Agreed. We need to turn out large numbers of Republican middle of the roaders as well. Congress needs to learn to fear the people. That a RINO voted against healthcare should not be a ticket to re-election.
I, oh, so wish, that the courts would eliminate this thing. But, they probably won’t. And, what will the GOP actually DO if and when they take control of the Congress? They will cave to the media pressure, and believe me, they will be hammered by the MSM on day one, because they don’t want to appear “mean”. I really think that our best hope for reversing the course is for the states to put up a fight and refuse to bow to this. Will that happen? Beats me!
I would love to think this way. But McLame & Findmegold is still fresh in my mind.
Let's assume that's true for just one moment. What happens to all the tax dollars that the Government STEALS from my paycheck during the next two years? Will I get that back? Highly unlikely (in both cases..)
“We already have Medicare”..
Uhhh.. EXCUSE ME.. The Government DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO PURCHASE IT.
This Bill could VERY WELL be tossed by the SCOTUS.
Obama and the Democrats now own the issue of health care, doctors, hospitals, sickness and dying. From this moment on, any sickness or death or problems and issues with same is the fault of ObamaCare.
Every one of them.
It will from now on be Obmas Fault when anyone gets sick or when someone dies.
If that happens, you'll be forced to purchase a poorly built GM.
A lot can happen between now and the Nov. elections. ...like a blanket amnesty which would give voting rights to tens of millions of new citizens. The Rat voter rolls would swell like never before virtually overnight. Plus many folks have very short memories.
And a SCOTUS reversal? Don’t bet the farm on it.
This is very bad news no matter how you look at it. Spinning it otherwise just serves to temporarily ease the pain, nothing more.
I am running for PA State Legislature (199th District).
Asserting our 10th Amendment States’ Rights to resist Federal Government Healthcare and its massive unfunded mandates is part of my core platform. I suspect there is a massive wave others like me across this country.
I'm putting all my chips on Sarah in '13. Only she has the balls and charisma to repeal this monstrosity.
There are no half-way measures any more. "I place before you light and life, or death and darkness. Choose life!"
I don’t believe that the court would sever the rest of the bill. The mandate to purchase healthcare is vitally important to the rest of the bill and the Court would not sever it. They would strike the entire bill. Without the mandate the bill is worthless (as far as what it is intended to do).
