I dunno dear brother in Christ. Maybe they don't like to dwell on "bad news?"
But will November be too late to fix this crap?
I’m confused, again. Didn’t they vote on the reconciliation (proposed amendments) before the bill. If so, even though they didn’t formally go through the conference process, didn’t they vote to change the bill before they passed it. Now they’re waiting on the Senate to agree or revise.
That sounds a lot like the conference process.
I do not know, I was away all weekend dealing with a friend who had some family issues. I missed most of it and I am trying to get caught up on things today.
Good question. I haven’t seen it either.
I’m not lawyer but I’d think that if there was anything in the 1st bill that referenced the actual bill, it would have to be revisited by the Senate.
I agree. What the hell, the law, and specifically constitutional law has been abandoned wholesale, by
these cretins.
So why did they insist on voting on the proposed amendments first? I feel like I’m missing something here.
My point isn’t that illegal immigration doesn’t matter (it most certainly does) it is that we can not allow the Democrats to change the topic of discussion. No other subject or bill should be considered except for repealing the Health Care takeover.
We want the vote in November to be Health Care Sham, Health Care Take over, Health Care mandates 24/7. Do not let them change the subject and the focus by bringing controversial distraction in to protect themselves.
My sincere apologies SeattleBruce. The comments were not meant to be directed at you but at the speech being given on FOX. I should have replied to post #1 and not a random one that belonged to you.
Again, I apologize. Sorry.

Thanks You - big relief. I kept re-reading my post to figure out if I’d offended you in some way...
Best!

I prefer not to dwell on such, too.
However, a watchman’s job seems never done . . .
and being at least minimally aware is a long stretch from dwelling obsessively on something.
Thx for your kind reply.

I have no idea how to implement that.”

I have no idea either. In fact, I’m so emotional when I call my Rep’s I usually flub up. Like this weekend, I left a voicemail for my Rep. and said “if he didn’t vote ‘no’ on healthcare if would be his last vote”.
I meant to say it would be his last term. I’m still waiting for the MIB to show up.
Ha.

I see you feel my pain. I have black helos buzzing over often, they fly training missions here, but it’s the Crown Victorias I am worried about.
Sure hope I didn’t get reported for my faux pas. OTOH, it would make a great story, sorta.
That happens to me too. If I remember in time, I write down what I want to say in advance and read it.

Yes, that’s the cure for “open mouth and insert foot” disease. Hopefully, I am healed and learn to do that! LOL

You need to reread my post it is all about focusing on now and the evil of BO and his insidious horde of progressives that have issued their version of a religious Fatwa on healthcare against the American people.
Here is the deal if we do not learn from our own history then we are doomed to repeat it and we need to recognize not only the folly of our opponents designs and plans but the mistakes we made in sending the wrong signals about smaller limited government, lower taxes, and free market values each time our own Representatives voted for big government type bills. We need to be able to police our own party with just as much scrutiny as we do on any legislation that is being written by progressive democrats, that are trying to turn our great nation into another Disney Euro Socialist Wasteland, in congress. My point is we can not afford any more John McCains, Arlen Spectors, Mitt Romneys, Lindsey Grahams, Olimpia Snows, Arnold Swewarzeneggers, and etc. representing us as a republic. We have to stand up to them and lead by example on smaller limited government, lower taxes, free markets values, and support of the the Constitution and that we well accept nothing less on these ideals. We have to call them on the carpet each time to remind them what it means to be a conservative. No more cutting them slack just because they have a R in front of their name. Anytime they lean to the left for bigger government we have to stop them in their tracks so as not to send mixed and wrong signals to the rest of the American people about what governing as a conservative means.
It is quite obvious that the GOP party is out of touch with it's own base on the plank for smaller government when our nominee for president ends up being John McCain. John McCain should not have been in the top ten let alone the actual nominee. This means some where along the line we lost touch with what gave us the 1994 Republican Revolution or the 1980 Reagan Revolution. And we have to recapture that so as not to repeat the mistakes that lost us all three houses. My post is all about fighting Obama and his commie cronies NOW and stopping them dead in their tracks in trying to fundamentally change American from a great bastion of freedom and turning it into a socialist land of enslavement. But to do that we have to make sure we don't make any more mistakes in governing as conservatives in the future and that means learning from the past.
Right now Barry and Co. has us so far in debt to other nations that we are on the brink of losing our tripe AAA credit rating with the price tag of this cowardice piece of crap legislation and once that is gone the US dollar want be worth jack. But we have to see how easy it was for them to take us down this path and what got us to this point to avoid those mistakes in the future when more progressives will rise up to try and remake the USA into their own idea of the ultimate socialist utopia where everything is bliss and free with no strings attached. They live a fantasy world of what could be when everywhere it has been tried it has always failed miserably and millions of people died horrible deaths while their leaders forged ahead grinding their victims bones into the dust all for an unattainable socialist utopia. So not to be like them we need to learn from history and not repeat it so as to more effectively defeat them once and for all time. That is what I trying to get across. The Art of War works in politics also and we have to apply those rules now because we are in a war for the political freedom of this country. Stay Strong and keep the faith and keep calling your Representatives. :)
Sorry for taking so long to respond but just back home.

I don't believe we, the base, nor the GOP picked McCain as our candidate. I fully believe that little maneuver was orchestrated and carried out by the dems. They crossed over specifically to vote in our primaries and chose our candidate for us.
This is not to say our GOP leaders are not out of touch with what we want but they did hold strong yesterday and, for the first time in a very long time, presented a united front and represented us well.
I pray that this will be a turning point for our party.
