One BILLION people participated in this program that's only TWO years old? LOL! Guess they felt they could count all the undeveloped nations that DON'T HAVE ELECTRICITY OR ANY WAY TO KNOW ABOUT THIS STUPIDITY in the first place!
The Gaia Worshipers need to off themselves...just to set A Good Example for the rest of us. ;)

Uh... since when are CANDLES so “green”??
Candles produce an enormous amount of CO and CO2, especially for the very small light they produce. A flame is about the least efficient way to generate light there is.

"In 2009, nearly 1 billion people . . . turned out their lights for Earth Hour."
Sometimes I think I'd like to become an environmentalist just so I can make crap up without worrying about whether it even sounds remotely plausible to anyone with a functioning brain cell or two.

Well if I hadn't retired I'd fire up the 300 ton air conditioning unit at work with 3-100 HP electric motors on the air handlers as well. That would be 1500 amps at 460 volts on start up and about 270 amps run current not counting the 100 hp motors. I'd make certain both boilers were lit and operating. But I think I'll just turn on all the lights and the heat then go hunting up on the top of the ridge {after I drove up there in a 4WD pickup of course.} Might build a fire up there also. Oh yea there's that old refrigerant in the old 1978 car I need to bleed off also.

Of course liberals don’t know what to do when the lights are out.
That is why most of the up-and-coming generation is conservative!

While all the lights are out no one can see me dump old motor oil in the storm sewer.

I think I’ll start a bonfire in celebration. I have ~ 4 gallons of leftover gas/oil mixture that I need to get rid of.

Q: Earth Hour is coming up on March 27 and I, for one, am excited to get in on the action and turn off my lights. Chanie, my question is are your lights ever on.

Well, Channie, if you don’t know what to do with the lights are off, there is nothing I can say to educate you. But at least the next generation won’t have your moronic genes.

Then, once you switch off the lights, settle down at the table and enjoy a candlelit dinner. Candles produce CO2 and other pollutants in the air. Better axe the candles.
How often is Saturday night just movie night?
Never. Next question.
Look at old picture albums.
Printing pictures uses natural resources in paper and ink production and both are very polluting. Next.
And the best part of it is, itll be dark enough that nobody will see you cheating.
Nice. Save the planet and contribute to the moral breakdown of culture and society. Great trade off.
When was the last time you looked up at the sky and actually saw more than a few stars?
Last night. Fail. Try again.

I made sure that all the lights were turned on, Dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer was running during the entire hour. This is just another one of the BS instances that those who wish to control your life use to make you feel guilty. More left wing crap.
