Just got my census!

Posted on 03/17/2010 2:26:14 AM PDT by djf

And, boy, was I excited!

So I looked at it close.

On the front it said:

United States (then the symbol of a circle around an R meaning Copyright)
CENSUS
2010

So I thought no biggie, nobody can actually copyright the phrase "United States"

Then I checked for a stamp I was convinced there would be no stamp, because official business of the United States can get mailed with no stamp, it's called the franking privilege.

Lo and behold! It's marked Postage and fees paid, permit NO. G-58

So who the hell copyrighted "United States"? And why do they have to pay postage like any other J6P?

The fact that they had to pay postage means it is not official business of the United States Congress.

Or that "Congress" is not official anymore and is in fact just a business.

LOL!

If anything, the only race should be ‘human’.

No one has even been prosecuted for non-compliance. Ever!

According to the Law, I just had to state how many people were living at my house.

I got the "census" form at my farm house. Beyond the head count question, the rest reads like a loan application. No one lives there at the farm house now, so Zero gets a big fat zero on that form. I'm betting that they'll send out an ACORN worker to verify that no one lives at that address, all at great taxpayer expense.

Anybody else notice that the "head count" question was in a shaded box at the top of the first page, clearly designed to be separated from the rest of the private, probing questions? That one jumped out at me.

The head count is all they'll get from me. Obama can go pound sand on the rest of the information he wants. That info is on a "need to know" basis and he don't need to know any of it.

I'm a freckled red head. If race has to do with the pigment in a person's skin, then those with red hair and freckles should be a race unto themselves, just like black, Asian, etc. I'm spotted and only three in every 100 people is naturally red headed. That puts me in a much smaller minority than most of the other categories. I think that's what I'll put down for race. Spotted......

Trouble is now, (and this can be verified by looking at the *what sort of Hispanic are you* questions) it will be used for wealth redistribution including, monies going to illegal aliens.

We throw the word “race” around so much, nobody really knows what it means . . . unless they follow NASCAR.

"Be Wise as Serpents and Harmless as Doves"

I agree, my friend.

I was wondering about the telephone number. I was thinking about giving them one wrong digit, as I usually do with my phone number, SSN and just about any other thing that is asked. Because a 7 can look like a 2, 1 or a 9 and a 4 can look like an 8 or a 9.

Just asking FReepers, is giving the correct number mandatory?

The government has never needed money so bad as it does now either. I no longer live at the address that they sent my questioaire to and the phone is disconnected so they really can’t find me at that address so I’m not answering anything. But I understand that I may be fined for it. Frankly, I’m willing to pay the fine because it’s a small price to pay to keep these scum bags out of my business.

They’re running commercials here in central Texas stating they will *hassle* you into compliance, visiting your residence up to 7 times and then asking questions of your neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc.

If that all fails, they will go to public data.

Supposedly it will cost billions of taxpayer dollars to do this extra work.

We answered the first 3 questions and mailed it.

I think it is time to redefine “Race.”

Pondering this obsession with race in America and trying to figure out how any multi-generational citizen could be a single “race.” You can only be one thing, American.

My heritage covers American Indian, Irish, English, German, and Czech. I am a melting pot of my past heritage. I am not this thing called Caucasian. I am an American.

The “Race” question might only apply to the newly immigrated, but within a few generations their children and grandchildren will have a heritage. They will not have a “race” other than American.

It is time we start to redefine “race,” such that it restores pride as we are Americans and it is honestly politically correct.

First, I will send a letter to the Census Bureau to notify them that they will be receiving my census form in the near future. Two weeks later, I will send them in my census form. The only information it will have is the number of people living in this house. I haven’t decided yet whether to do it in crayon.

The only two things that should be considered are where you reside and whether or not you are a citizen.

I have completed the only those sections of the Census form pertaining to the Constitutionally-mandated actual enumeration, as follows:

1. The actual number of people living at the address printed on the form, excluding untaxed Native Americans;
2. Age of each person in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
3. Sex of each person, in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.

Down where it asked “race”, I marked it “Other” and wrote in “American” . . .

I did that ten years ago. Somehow, the Census Bureau got hold of my phone number and called my house to find out what race I was. I wouldn't tell them. The census worker explained that they had to know my race. I replied that it was a violation of the Civil Rights Act to take race into account for any actions I did, and that included filling out a census form. She finally gave up.
