Washington As he had indicated on Friday, Rep. Eric Massa (D-Corning) has resigned from the House of Representatives.
Paperwork for Massas resignation was filed Friday with the House to take effect Monday, March 8, at 5 p.m.

“Why did he leave now? Why not wait until the vote.”
The whole point of him being pushed out is so he doesn’t get to vote against obamacare. The gay democrats in favor of obamacare are not resigning. And they don’t get ambushed in the shower either. The gay staffer is probably a WH plant and he probably has video.
Or twelve...

Stupak: ‘More optimistic’ on abortion deal
If the guy was actually afraid of stuff in the ethics probe/file, he could have just shifted his vote FOR Odumbskycare — rather than resign. Once he switched the vote, the ethics probe would have vanished.
And—
Switching a vote is a lot easier than resigning ... and if all he cares about are young men and his ability to chase them, then it would be logical to just switch his vote FOR Obamskycare.
Does everyone see what I’m getting at here? An unethical sexual predator switches his vote, he does NOT resign.
Krauthammer is not thinking the thing through here. And, we’re not seeing all the facts of this matter — we’re in the “fog of war” period.
That must be what Barney wanted.
“Once he switched the vote, the ethics probe would have vanished.”
Yes but the point is to publicly destroy Massa so the other dems fall in line. If they vote for obamacare they may lose in November but if they vote against they might have to deal with gay staffers accusing them of sexual harassment.
My point regards Massa’s motivation for quitting—he could have made the ethics investigation go away by switching his vote. He quit for reasons that are not clear.
The Rats threatened to destroy him if he didn’t vote for Obamacare. They were serious.
I know. Something just doesn’t make sense...
He should have stayed while Pelosi conducted one of her 1-3 year long investigations.
Threatening harm to a family member would make most sense.
I will maintain my stance on this issue: if it passes then it’s time for the people of the country to march on Washington and physically throw them out. Nothing will change my mind.
Appears that way, doesn't it.
I agree, something about this stinks to high heavens.
Whoa Nelly. Hearing Rahm torn to shreds is really fun!
What was Emanuel doing in the Congressional Gym and Showers-
