Nothing on the wires yet. No more news given than what I put in the headline.
The PIO is a non-nonsense kind of guy...not answering much. He won’t describe the suspect- except that he’s male. He was trying to gain entry to the Pentagon.
It’s dreadful to have to listen to Sanchez report this.
Another questions was asked: Did the shooter have on body-armor? The PIO officer said he didn’t want to answer that right now...
Something’s up.
Rick Sanchez on CNN summing up press conference. Says the shooter was trying to gain entrance to the Pentagon, not the Metro. Notes the chief would not answer question of whether the shooter was wearing body armor.
Wouldn't describe his ethnicity. He said he believed the shooter was an American citizen. He wouldn't answer a question about whether the shooter was wearing body armor - kind of strange he wouldn't answer the question and that it was asked in the first place.
So we now can surmise it's not a white guy...
kristinn- did you hear what Dinah and I thought we heard? At one point I heard a female reporter ask “Was he muslim”...PIO said he didn’t want to answer that right now...

Thanks for that info, kristinn. Most of us are only familiar with the above-ground part of the Pentagon.

“Three people shot outside Pentagon Metro station”

WASHINGTON -
SNIPPET: “The shooting involved two Pentagon Force Protection Agency police officers. Arlington Country Fire and Rescue says the three people, including the suspect, have been transported to a local hospital.”
SNIPPET: “Keevil says the suspect calmly approached the Pentagon entrance, reached in his coat pocket, pulled out a handgun and started shooting. Police believed the shooter was reaching for Pentagon pass.”
SNIPPET: “The Pentagon Metro station has since reopened. The south entrance to the station is still closed, but trains have resumed service.”
Well, if the shooter was wearing body armor, it wasn’t all that effective, unless he was shot in the head.
I mean, reportedly, he’s in serious condition, right?
