Sarah Palin -- reality TV star?
The former Alaska governor is teaming with uber-producer Mark Burnett to shop a reality series about her home state, network sources confirm.
Palin and Burnett made the rounds at at least three of the major broadcasters (NBC, ABC and Fox) while in Los Angeles for her taping of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" this week.

I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this. Palin’s political instincts are awfully damned good.
She’s done....... damn !
Perot had to pay millions for 30 mins of TV time. If this works out Palin gets it for free.
I can picture it now sitting around the supper table having a discussion about the topic of the week, or out on the snow machines talking about energy policy showing the oil wells and the caribou coexisting together. Driving home her message of energy independence.
hell even showing her shopping at the local walmart would get her votes. this woman is playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers.
It appears that the story is being mischaracterized. We've heard that what Governor Palin is pitching to television executives is not a "reality show" but rather more of a "Planet Earth" style documentary showcasing Alaska's resources, people, history, and splendor. If the project comes to fruition, it will not be an Alaskan version of the Osbournes. The show will be more "PBS/Ken Burns" instead of "MTV/The Osbournes". This sounds like it's another opportunity for Governor Palin to promote Alaska -- which is, of course, one of the promises she made when she stepped down from the governorship.
The star of the show is supposed to be Alaska, not Sarah Palin or her family.
Read it all.
No I didn’t.
give me a break from the reports it appears the lefties are trying to once again paint Palin in an unflattering light...imagine that.
As did Richard Nixon, who appeared on “Rowan and Martin’s Laughin” during the 1968 presidential campaign, said “Sock it to ME?” and got a bump upward in the polls.
Sure wouldn’t help with folks already doubtful of her fitness after she quit mid-term. Sure she cited family concerns but those concerns will still be there in 2012 and the presidency is a much more stressful and time consuming job.
Are you suggesting this story is made up?
If she goes this route, she’ll kill the star power she has.
It’s being reported a lot of other places as well, and I certainly haven’t seen anything that refutes it.
It was done with the “book burning” the “divorce” the “flop of her book” her having it “ghost written” her flying a “private jet instead of riding in a bus” her “hand notes” etc etc
It is the MO of the MSM press. I have learned never to believe anything they say at face value.
Finally even if true the free campaign time would be a massive feather in her cap.
Well, I’ve seen Denial and Anger here, but I don’t think anyone’s quite made it to Bargaining.
You don't actually believe this, do you?
Well, I suspect we’ll hear from Palin, Burnett, and/or Gaspin if this story is inaccurate.
As for “free campaign time”, do you really think the same mainstream media you say is making up stories about Palin is going to give her a free platform to promote her political views? Whatever this show ends up being, it probably won’t be something that makes her appear any more Presidential.
Thanks for the link. Since they’re not denying that it features the Palin family, I presume it does.
Simply silly that anyone would take this seriously.
ABC and CBS care about ratings more that ideology and if Palin can deliver those ratings they will broadcast her show. It will not be an in your face campaign event. More of a this is what AK means to me, this is why I am who I am, this is what is great about America and AK etc.
It will allow Palin to build her own narrative outside of the MSM as a person. if done correctly it will stop the hate speech and show a different side of Palin that the MSM is loath to allow out in its news articles.
