Thank you. I confess it didn’t occur to me that the sign holder may have meant that. But frankly, the fact that it’s plausible someone would indeed say something as idiotic as how Leno portrayed shows the Tea Party movement needs to improve its image.
The next day, Romney on pMSNBC did say that “yes, she’s qualified to be President.”
She really got comfortable on the campaign trail last time around so
I pity the fool who has to go up against her next time.
I think Jay was trying to put forth a little humor, which is understandable; however, it should have been responded to for the reason I stated earlier. :-)
I could be wrong, but Leno did not seem to be intentionally misconstruing the sign. That was his actual take on it. Yes, he was aiming to be funny, but it was funny because it was believable. I deal with people who would be that stupid far too often to write it off.
LOL, I don’t know what show that person attended, but it wasn’t the one I attended.
Palin got widespread applause by the audience when she was introduced, and frequently during her segments. I sat right in the middle and looked right and left, and almost everyone was clapping.
Her comments received the normal amount of audience approval, as clapping and hooting took place often. During her stand up routine, some jokes didn’t get a robust response, but most of them did. And anyone who has attended a stand-up routine knows that the audience hardly every claps at every single joke. Johnny Carson himself could tell you that. One of his funniest bits was his reaction to the absence of response to his jokes. He’d get this fake sullen look on his face, and insult his audience to great laughter and hoots.
Palin’s overall interview went very well. Leno was cordial and even lampooned the press for it’s treatment of Palin and her children. He was decidedly nice to her and the fact she was able to do the stand-up stint was evidence of it. And she did a very credible job with that stand-up routine.
You’d have to be a very bitter person to think Palin failed that evening. And the idea that the sound track had to be pumped up is pure misinformation.
Thanks for all your efforts related to the Tuesday Palin appearance and after dinner Ron. Great job.
I had a great time. Met some great people and thoroughly enjoyed the days events.
Itis good to see that someone ELSE who was at the taping feels as I do!

What a jerk! Never heard of FReepers or how loud you all could be, not to mention the others in the audience who were charmed by her and thought that her lines were funny because they were!
