AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Voters will finally get their chance Tuesday to weigh in on Texas' long, rough gubernatorial primary.
Both Republican Gov. Rick Perry and rival Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison planned a last round of public appearances in Dallas, with Hutchison stopping at a polling place and Perry, in his official role as governor, participating in a military-related Texas Independence Day celebration.
The two are vying for the GOP gubernatorial nomination along with party activist Debra Medina. Medina is a favorite of many tea party voters and could pull in enough support to force a runoff.
If no one wins a majority of Tuesday's vote, the top two finishers will face off April 13.

He comes from the Clinton 'third way' camp. Still very liberal but likes to put on a moderate face. Funny story, I actually met Ford about a year ago. I was on the same flight as him and sat two seats over. Our row got into a political conversation the entire way. He was the consummate politician, voicing agreement in a way to anything someone said (ie, you can't trust what he says, he'll triangulate to win anyone over). I will say, however, he was a very nice guy and a gentleman (he helped an old lady carry her bags and get out of her seat).
I plan to. Hocndoc had a couple of good ideas for resolutions on the Texas board that I may steal.

Perry wins by simple process of elimination.

At our precinct, the turnout was running 5 to 1 R vs D.
Thanks for the info. I listeened to Medina on Glenn Beck’s show. How a-n-y-o-n-e could vote for her is beyond me, but then in local politics everything is possible. I assume that more than half of her votes are going to KBH in a possible run-off (just because things are what they are - weird!).
Beck exposed Medina, and then she further exposed herself by refusing to support the GOP winner. She’s a loser.
I will never vote for anyone who voted for the bailout, which means I will not be voting KBH vs. White, if that actually happens. I would vote for Perry if Perry vs. White.
Medina said that she does not believe that the federal government played a part in 9/11, but I don’t think that she would put it past them. I wouldn’t either. The federal governement killed almost 700,000 Americans in the Civil War so I consider that a valid precedent.
Rebels have always been killed when they took up arms against their government. Did you expect the soldiers at Ft. Sumter to surrender, or did you expect them to protect and defend the authority of our Constitutional governance over territory that was, is, and hopefully always will be; part of the United States of America?
And how you think an open war against rebels means that the federal government is either capable or likely to pull off such a massive conspiracy to kill 3,000 Americans is beyond belief.
But if Medina is hoping for the truther vote to pull her over the top, she is as deluded as they are.
She is not a truther, and neither am I. She just distrusts the federal government, which is a good thing, IMO because the feds do not have good track record, no matter how good their intentions are.

If a person still “have questions” about the most studied and documented event in modern history, that person is a truther and a nutjob.
Even if you think the federal government had the motive/intention to kill 3,000 Americans and bring down the WTC (and I would like for you to explain what possible motive there would be for me, but somehow I doubt that you will); it is an entirely different thing to suppose, for even a second, that they had the capability to keep it secret.
If someone thinks the government had motive; they are paranoid.
If someone thinks the government had the capability; they are delusional.
Paranoid delusionals are not often thought of as viable candidates for Governorships.
I think that the original question was valid, even though highly improbable. Obviously, the federal government didn’t play a part, but the question deserved to be asked. There a still questions on whether other world governments played a part, so there ARE still questions that the feds have not answered.
I would like to point out that if you think that Medina’s Jefferson philosophies will harm Texas, then that makes you paranoid. If you think that DC will stop spending your money or intruding on states’ rights, then that makes you delusional. Maybe you should run for governor?
Expected, as the reason most truthers are flaming liberals is that they think the motive was “War for Oil”.
If, eight years later, a person still ‘has questions’; that person is a moron.
I think Medina being an unqualified loon would harm (if she were elected), not just Texas, but the Republican Party, and the nation.
But nice attempt at trying to paint me as against Jeffersonian governance. I guess when someone is a paranoid delusional truther who cannot answer simple questions as to possible motives, mischaracterization is one of the few avenues of attack available.

At our precinct there was not one democrat in line. All the voting machines were empty on their side with the dem workers tweeting, etc. I had to wait for a machine...that was around 2pm this afternoon. This is Collin County, so I pretty much expected the same; however, I have never seen an empty dem side in any primary at this location before.
