WASHINGTON Democratic congressional leaders vowed Friday to resurrect their long-stalled health care legislation, with or without Republican suggestions or even their votes. One day after an unprecedented health care summit that brought together President Barack Obama and lawmakers of both parties, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the nationally televised event showed GOP lawmakers are "accepting of the status quo" in which insurance companies mistreat consumers.
She told reporters at a news conference there are "good prospects for passing" health care legislation along the lines Obama has outlined, even if Republicans refuse their support.
The Senate's second-ranking Democrat, Richard Durbin of Illinois, seconded the determination to move ahead. "We are not going to wait," he said.
Both Pelosi, D-Calif., and Durbin said Democrats would consider Republican suggestions for changes.

disrespecting the american voters.
Obama has looked at the electorate and has determined that he will be reelected in 2012.
The question remains, has Nancy determined that she has already lost the speakership? If not, then she is not about to press forward in earnest.
The Benito Musollini treatment might prove an option, too.
They feel very comfortable in their corruption now that they have successfully destroyed the minds of many in the post 60s generations.
They’ll understand it come November when they’re all out of a job.
Obama shouldn’t get measured for his Inauguration 2012 suit just yet.
Substitute a death star for the health care bill and this will quickly turn into the plot of “Return of the Jedi”.
What are you basing that presumption on?
That’s my thinking too, but I’m wagering it isn’t his.
I see a major showdown with Marxist 0bama by July. Washington is going to be in turmoil and there will be major demonstrations around the country.

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Snip
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.
What the Rats think is that they can ram it down our throats and the GOP will never be able to muster the votes and/or the political will to repeal it. What they misunderestimate is the anger of the people and that if it can be passed with 51 votes, it can also be repealed with 51 votes.
You’re right. If they had the votes, this would have been passed long ago.
This is all posturing and bluff and bluster. They are trying to arm twist adn do some more back room deals, but, those actions haven’t moved the votes of enough congressmen to allow this to pass.
If they had the votes, they would call another midnight session of each House, cast their votes, and be done with it.
I know they are eager to move on to cap and trade to keep the oceans from rising and drowning us and all that. The longer health care drags on, the less time they have to do other things.
Well, it can be repealed with 51 votes in the Senate, if there is a Republican president to sign that legislation. Otherwise it would need a 2/3 vote to overcome an Obama veto. If this passes, realistically it can’t be repealed till Jan. 2013 if a Repub. president is elected in Nov. 2012.
The Benito Musollini treatment might prove an option, too.
Hell yes.
Bring it on Rats, do so at your own peril you arrogant, Marxist SOB’s.
Today I sent a message to my Democratic Congresscritter Tim Ryan (OH-17). I reminded him he may be challenged in his own primary and to look at Virginia, New Jersey, Mass. at what lies ahead. I pointed out the vulnerability of many members up for re-election and reminded him he works for us and that the people ARE speaking up - they are voting these goofs right out. That we DO have an interest in Congressional procedure unlike what Obama noted. That we ARE paying attention and that we see this is simply a power grab and that his own leadership doesn’t care about sacrificing a few members to get what they want.
