I reckon since Backus is a PINHEAD, he’s incapable of judging distance.
To: toomanygrasshoppers
He’s almost impossible to listen to. At first, I thought there was a problem with the FNC feed, so I switched to CNN. No improvement.
To: texanyankee
he looks like he’s hungover and shaky..........what the heck is the matter with him? reid ought to shut him up. he’s stuttering.

amen take the entire day and settle one disagreementEggzatcly! I'd bet they could settle 10, but a bunch of prepared statements is no different than what happens on the floor of the Capitol.

The only thing bipartisan about this bill is the opposition. The Republicans ought to get that soundbite in somewhere.

I cannot stand to listen to that arrogant, snooty piece of work posing in high office. Chin in the air...sounds like a rap song.
When, please tell me, did custom and etiquette change so that the President now calls members of Congress by their first names?
Nancy this, Harry that, Lamar & Tom...etc. I’m waiting for one of those Congresscritters to call him Barack, or BO.
I have NEVER heard a previous President address members of Congress in such a slovenly manner. It’s always Senator, or Congressman, etc. Or, Doctor, in the case of Tom Coburn. Didn’t his mama teach him any manners? Wait...I already know the answer to that. It’s the same answer as to why he puts his feet all over the WH furniture and AF 1.
Furthermore, the President did not even look like he was listening during Dr. Coburn’s entire presentation.

If this is being viewed by a large audience, the republicans will come out OK. They went in with a majority of public opinion behind them and have appeared sane, reasonable, and respectful. The democrats have appeared defensive, angry and arrogant. This is not about wining debate points or throwing bombs. The Obama fans that I know won't be watching this. If they're home now with the blizzard, they're watching 'The View.'

We already do shop and compare. Open the markets across state lines. Cut the stupid mandates that cause insurance to be expensive (like some states require detox provisions etc.) Allow companies to buy policies in a cafeteria plan rather than by government mandated coverage. We have no employees who will get pregnant (nor spouses- all older). We are required to buy pregancy coverage for employees. Why not allow it as a mix-match to meet each employers needs?

That is the strategy-—we agree on everything. We are close with the repubs. I hope someone on the repub side says where their plan is a POS.

Damn, if I were a pub in that room, I’d be challenging people to a duel by now. I would have no patience for this nonsense.

If anyone ever has the fortitude to transcribe this snoozefest, someone needs to do a count on the number of times the word “agree,” or some variant of it, is used by both sides. The numbers will be astronomical.

Baucus and Bammy swap spit...Reid is jealous...elbows Pelosi...she pulls his nose and tells him to shut up.
