ABC News has begun the process of eliminating 300 to 400 positions at the news division by asking employees to participate in a buyout of their services.
In a move that has been rumored for weeks, and coming on the heels of layoffs at CBS News, ABC's cuts are a combination of union and non-union jobs affecting all areas of ABC News.
Developing...
the MSM like common dung beetles....wander aimlessly, head in the sand....moving backward...while pushing their crap and hoping it sticks to something.....
You have one of those too?
I thought The View was their news agency.
Sigh . . .
Tell him/her that
- Journalists are all selling the idea that the news that they know from the newswire but which you haven't heard/read yet is important. And most of the time, most of the news is unimportant and will soon be forgotten.
- Journalists claim to be objective, or at least that all other journalists are objective (which, if those other journalists make the same claim, is the same thing).
- The only way to even attempt to be objective is to start out with an analysis of any reasons you might have to want to believe what you do.
- Journalists never point out their need to make the news seem more important than it usually is - or any other tendency which inheres in their business model.
- Therefore journalists' claims to objectivity are a fraud.
- People who ignore or heavily discount so-called "objective" news evince far more interest in the truth than people who passively follow the story line of the journalist.

Thanks for the ping/post/link. Good to see you c_I_c. BUMP for a great thread!
In the early hours I picked up a radio station and it was fading somewhat. An author was talking of his book regarding the triangle in the presidential election. He had it that Hilary Clinton and John McCain were aghast at a complete newcomer, without much of a record of service. This was Barack Obama, suddenly gaining an immense coverage. The author claimed the McCain camp were apprehensive of McCain turning on Obama with such vitriol, it would turn off the electorate. Now came this telling statement.
McCain had been the "media darling," now the new "media darling," was Barack Obama.
I asked myself, "is this journalism? ". Surely the massive war rooms of the candidates were there for that. Surely the meetings of supporters and gatherings are there for that. I concluded that the media, or much of it, seems to be like a skittish adolescent. Waiting to be titillated by some flight of fancy, it is a free country to do that.
The most vital thing was completely missed by them. That being "who really is Barack Obama?" They told us enough about the then Governor Sarah Palin. No more needs to be said by me.
*DOUBLE PING*
Imagine how Fox news would grow if they covered everything they should cover, they are light years ahead of the others but even Fox is not doing the whole job.
That picture makes me want to cry...she looks just like my Border Collie used to look when I let her out at night, she died recently.
I hope you are not serious... About your dog dying. If so, I'm sorry.
