Newly-seated Republican Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) on Monday joined Democrats in voting to end debate on their $15 billion jobs bill.
Brown crossed the aisle after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) nixed an $85 billion, bipartisan plan in favor of a more narrowly-focused bill.

No surprise. I knew he was a RINO. Heck, he’s not pro-life. That’s the first red flag.
I know. I couldn’t believe people here on FR seemed to be touting him as the 2012 savior. No way.
Hear, hear! Of course. I haven’t followed Hayward, but McLame has to go. Good luck to you. We are trying to get rid of Boxer for RINO supreme Fiorina. Any improvement is better than none at all and the less D’s in the Senate, the more committees the Republicans will control and will be able to confirm SCOTUS appointments.
Exactly.
People here are acting like Massachusetts was in play, and not a deep blue state with a stunning upset from a RINO who beat the typical socialist candidate who usually wins, and who would have won if not for Obama’s massive lack of popularity.
I don’t know if the IQ of FR is going down or if this is just a knee jerk reaction. I’m thrilled to have a RINO taking Ted Kennedy’s seat. This is Hugh.
It’s pretty scary when even people on FR are fooled by the labeling of legislation as a “jobs bill”.
The government does not create jobs.
I think the results will be good. People are afraid of him.
“McCain is not a RINO.”
That’s pretty funny. We are going to make you official FR commedian.
“McCain is not a RINO.” Har, har. I love your dry sense of humor.
Very depressing!
Not surprising really, He is a RINO from Massa2chits.
Your knowledge is limited.
He voted against the Dem’s Union endorsed nominee.
Stupid jackass liberal with a whore for a daughter...
Referring to Brown, of course...
Hey! You have called it right! Good post!
Sheesh...he said he’s an independant..he said he would not please everyone...he said where he stood...he has deceived no one...but guess what... He is not Kennedy and they are no more!!!!! Massachesetts is free! and we have at least a chance... my money was well spent. BTW watch him vote against health care...
Please be proud that you donated. Do not regret it. It was money well spent. We’re better off with Brown than with coakley. Consider what she would have done if she had won. That’s the one thought that keeps me positive.
Days before the election, I went into a very involved and strongly-worded argument against Brown here on FR , with the message
“Is Scott “I’m the 41st Vote!” Brown merely our version of
Ben Nelson? A red flag was raised by his campaign immediately when its main selling point was that HE and HE ALONE embodie our “last best hope” of derailing ObamaCare.
Well, I argued against that conceit, and was ganged up on by at least 3 other FReepers on a Brown Thread, until I finally relented and wrote another long rant where I wound up at least trying to perspectivize the SB victory and celebrate its significance. Of course, ULTIMATELY it would all depend on how he wound up VOTING.
NOW, however, it seems, with this FIRST important vote, he winds up voting exactly as Martha Coakley would have.
What more goodies can we expect from Mitt, Jr.?
And SINCE he was seated I’ve also been troubled to read a few snippets from him that indicated he really DIDN’T have any knowledge or appreciation of WHO it was who got him elected, and what he owed them. Strangely he’s making some Industrial Strength mistakes already, and they do have things in common with Obama’s mistakes.
Well, I’m from New Jersey, and at least we still
have Chris Christie.
I THINK.
Just another RINO - and a Rookie RINO at that!
ROTFLMAO. I told FREEPERS that he was not the Savior...nobody listened to me. Another pie in the face moment for conservatives. When are we as a collective going to learn.
