Newly-seated Republican Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) on Monday joined Democrats in voting to end debate on their $15 billion jobs bill.
Brown crossed the aisle after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) nixed an $85 billion, bipartisan plan in favor of a more narrowly-focused bill.

You betcha!
Just about everyone on FR was glad to see the Kennedy seat removed from the Democrats Senate column. Some of us FReepers just didn't see the need to cheer lead for a liberal. The celebration is definitely over, now its back to reality. With Brown being a Romney clone, I don't hold out much hope he'll be a consistent vote for the GOP.
On the bright side, opposing Scott Brown is a cause which furthers conservatism in America.
JD HAyworth need only bide his time (PLEASE DONATE TO HIS CAMPAIGN EVERYBODY) and everything will fall into place for him.
Everyday Rush says “The era of McCain is over,” which is as close to a nation-wide endorsement as JD can get at this point.
After Sarah does her thing for McCain, I think Rush will come out in support of JD and then he will get a BIG BOUNCE!
Rush has never liked McCain. Mark Levin has already endorsed JD Hayworth.
“Since we know he intends to occasionally cross he aisle, Id rather he cross the aisle on this innocuous jobs bill than on the big stuff like healthcare and cap and trade. In my court, the jury is still out...”
I think most rational people were not expecting a hard core conservative to be elected in Massachusetts. He was better than Coakley. As you say, the most one can hope for is that he will be a “no” on the big stuff that Coakley would have voted for. We need to work on getting rid of the “blue dog” so-called conservative Dems who got elected in conservative states....
sent a donation already. Probably will do it again!
Will you people calm the heck down!! I thought the jobs bill was bipartisan to start with. I know Dingy Harry cut it down. Brown said he would vote what he felt was right for the people NOT THE PARTY!!! Sheesh. Let it go to the vote and see what happens.
Measures that will create Government jobs, Scott! Glad you want to send a strong message for bipartisanship. We’ll see where that gets you.
I did also. There are some pissed off people there right now.
Exactly. Scott Brown, can you hear this? Doubtful that he could find a conservative website like FR. Scott Brown likely reads Daily Kos... and couldn’t couldn’t find his ass with two hands and a flashlight. Yee hah, we elected another damn liberal Republican to the Senate, only his name is Scott Brown !!!
It will get him invited to the White House, I guess! Grrr!
I agree, but it would have given us some sort of vision of his upcoming votes. Well, I guess it did!
Good! Maybe he’ll take the hint that he did exactly what his opponent would have done! Geez!
Didn't and doesn't bother me in the slightest. He made no pretense of where he stands. Everyone knew he would vote with Democrats now and then. He was worth it for three reasons:
1. He made safe Democrat seats across the country not safe. More seats up for grabs this year than in our lifetimes. The GOP will enjoy pickups they would not have won because Scott Brown showed the country the safest of the safe Democratic seats could be taken.
2. He postposed and perhaps killed Obamacare.
3. The alternative was a Senator who would vote with Democrats on everything.
Excellent! It’s months until the primary in August.
I have complete faith that JD will win this.
It is all over! We are doomed! Forget the election in November making nay difference. ETC ETC.
Now that is posted let’s move on and elect some/ a lot of real conservatives. I knew deep in my heart that Scoot Brown may vote with the Dems.
I am disappointed in it but not surprised. He is a Masschusetts Republican and will have to play one to keep getting elected.
He was the one that was responsible for shutting down Obamacare.
I can take $15B over taking over our whole lives with gov’t run health care.
I agree it is too early. I have to read the bill. Aren’t there tax cuts for small businesses? What is so objectionable about this “jobs bill”? I’m feeling too tire to do my own research as I have a cold.
Anyone with a brain knew that Brown would be a huge RINO who would be useless in the conservative’s fight for restoring our Constitutional freedoms.
So what?
His being a RINO is missing the point. The significance of his STUNNING win filling “Ted Kennedy’s Seat” is that those voters automatically elect the most rabid far-left socialist running in the election. By voting for the least liberal person running, it shows a massive dynamic shift against supporting Obama and his agenda.
That is the significance. Every one of you were warned by me and others that Scott Brown would be an Olympia Snow type RINO. You should have known.
Said in posts like this one...

The significance is not that we have a new RINO in the Senate, but that it came at the expense of a perpertually socialist senate seat. It is not that Brown is a conservative, but that Brown is not a deep socialist.
Coming from Ted Kennedys seat, that is hugely significant and should send a message to the Dems of the upcoming bloodpath in November. If John-John had not Chappaquiddicked his plane, he probably would have walked right into that seat.
RINO Browns victory is Hugh.
Actually he much-maligned on FR lately Beck addressed all the fawning over Brown on his show the other day and said: “Can we please have the guy do something, cast a vote, anything before we anoint him the next coming of Obama.”
The only jobs government creates are government jobs. Government does not create private sector jobs.
