South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/02/18/ppp-poll-romney-now-biggest-threat-to-obama-head-to-head/
These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
Mega-dittoes on that, Jim Rob!
If “mittens” was on fire and I had a bladder full of recycled coffee, I wouldn’t waste a good country whiz on him...the backstabbing, preening, RINO p**ck...
A.A.C.
If you're a real supporter, then you would have already read her book and known that she will always support McCain. Heck, we were discussing that very issue a year ago on these forums since we knew the day would come in which she would endorse him. Her endorsement was NO surprise, and those who express shock and chagrin at it are being disingenuous at best, dishonest at worst.
Since the initial announcement though, can you point me to anything she has actually done for the old man besides repayment of the SarahPAC loan and lip service to his Vietnam service? Looks to me like she has done the bare minimum required for loyalty's sake.
The ‘its his turn’ meme is a myth.
When was it Lamar Alexander’s turn? How many times did he run for president and never got the nod?
Romney MIGHT have had a turn in TEAM ROMNEY
had not attacked Gov. Palin and her children.
Shame on Mitt RomneyCARE.
Shame on his supporters who attacked and attack
Gov. Palin and her children.

Remarks: Romney at CPAC, February 18, 2010 - The Page by Mark Halperin - TIME.com
I also remember that Mc Cain got his ass beat. If it had not been for Palin, he would have gotten slaughtered. I also remember that Mc Cain and the Republican Party is the reason that obama isin the White House today. Additionally, if they want to stay on this Romney or any other RINO crap, obama will stay there four more years.
Did RomneyCare apologize?
"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys. He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."

"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!
Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.

No. The carpetbagger SOB did not.
Was that a general comment or directed at me personally?
Romney would be a great candidate for 2012...if he was running as a Democrat
Fine. Keep rationalizing her support of McCain.
This can only end badly for Sarah.
OMGGGGG he is Romulan hey even my Borg buddies didn’t want take Romehry
Maybe Sarah Palin YEAH the Borg love her LOL!
Godzilla love her too Monk
If I thought Palin could win I would be all over it, but the 2minutes hate crowd would crucify her, and will if she gets that far.
Sarah is my first choice, but we gotta get rid of O.
Palin? Serious? We have so many better and winnable conservatives. How about Pence? Rubio? I would take Ron Paul over Palin. Palin is a great American. But she is not presidential material. Let’s be real.

That about covers it.
Neither is Ron Paul. I would easily take Palin over that nutjob.
However, I agree with you on Pence, Rubio...DeMint, Hunter, Bachmann, maybe Barbour...there are plenty of conservatives out there that we can get behind.
It’s clear the new GOP script is to pay lip service to the Tea Party but have business as usual in its RINO leaders and ways.`
Dirtbags. We’re not fooled.
The ‘new’ Mitt Romney? Is that like the ‘new’ Dick Nixon?
