And so it begins:
CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney

South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head

These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
Yeah, I love Lee Strobel’s testimony. And I will let you know when I post it. I really should do it soon as I get asked this often.
Good...I’ll look forward then.
well that is depressing as hell but I believe it. The GOP just don’t get it. I was watching Hannity the other night and he was talking to another prochoice liberal republican and said he would vote for a prochoice GOP President. This from a conservative Catholic! His principles are easily replaced by politics.
Well you think a dimwitted blonde has a chance of defeating Obama. What does that make you?
YES YES YES He needs to go! I feel so sorry for those people who live on the border who have so many drug runners and illegals, they have some serious security and nobody is paying attention.
amen amen!
It would really be interesting to learn the identities of Republican conservatives whom Governor Palin would be genuinely interested in running with.

It’s really immaterial at this point. She might need a geographical selection to bring in a needed state. She may need a person who improves confidence in her administration in a particular field. She is grounded in reality and will choose someone who will help her get elected and govern. She has a low tolerance for people in her administration working at cross purposes against her.
Agreed.. The Palin-bots are looney-tunes. They simple can’t see the forest through the trees. She’s okay on philosophy but she’s an airhead as far as soaking up knowledge is concerned. She has shown absolutely zero leadership qualities in her brief political experience. Infact, she has shown the exact opposite of what I would consider leadership.
The heat turned up on her in Alaska were nothing but smoking ashes compared to the wildfire of issues she would face as a Prsident.
Absolutely NO Palin.
Wait until mid-term elections which should send a clear message to the GOP-RINOs !
And launch a grass-root surge within the GOP
Despite the naysayers out there, I think Palin is a lock for the GOP nomination. There are too many conservatives who will vote for her in the primaries.

Only if we work hard to make it happen. In 2008, conservatives didn’t have a candidate they could work for that had enough charisma to actually win in the general election. This time will be different. We have 2 years to get organized, get Tea Party people registered as Republicans so they can vote in our primaries, and to replace the Tina Fey image with that of an experienced leader who is fluent in important issues and whose values are typically American. Meanwhile the dems will be working to demean the Tea Parties, Sarah, and the values of both.
“Why label someone with an opinion weak minded because they dont agree with you ? Thats so dem.”
I did no such thing. I’m calling people weak-minded if they bought the BS from the constant media attacks on here and the subsequent attacks on FR from Romney,Paul and Third Party fringers.
You can vote who you wish for, but it’s going to be Romney or Palin...that’s your realistic choices. Life is choices. If you support Romney, there nothing I can do to stop you or anybody else.
But it is what it is.
Yea.. Haley is such an animal. Giving thousands of his citizens quality high paying jobs. What a pig. He’s out.
LMAO at you Palin-Bots..
I’m hoping she has sense enough not to run in 2012. It would be for the best, and it would make for some serious entertainment around here. As if her endorsement of McCain-—in a primary!—hasn’t been entertaining enough!
I think it is hysterical that a Ron Paul wack a mole like you would find anything funny after looking at Ron Paul.
FYI this guy is a Medina Paul supporter.
Do you speak for America?
The real question is who would the voters in the swing states prefer?
Do the voters in Wisc. prefer Sarah or Obama? Do the voters in Iowa prefer Sarah or Obama? Do the voters in Colorado prefer Sarah or Obama? Do the voters in Inidana prefer Sarah or Obama? Do the voters in Nevada prefer Sarah or Obama? Do the voters in N.Carolina, Virgina and Florida prefer Sarah or Obama?
Are you actually going to tell me that they prefer Obama??
She has plenty of time to continue to grow yet her followers, in haste with poor judgement, want to throw her to the wolves.
She has 2 1/2 years to "grow", yet you want to discount her now.
The haste and poor judgement is ironically -- yours!
Weak RINO McCain replaced by weak RINO Romney?
Soros must have infiltrated the Repubs too.
Make the Dem Party into the New Socialist Fascists Party as it now is, and weaken the Repubs so they are not a viable alternative. Smart strategy. Cheap too. Just got to buy the leadership.
IMO, Palin would get more votes than Romney. Romney is a “has been” who could not even beat RINO McCain for the candidacy. A loser.
Romney, 2012, looks like I’ll sit that one out. He won’t fire up the base and Independants. If the Press is already cheering for him, they are setting it up for a win, unfortunately it will be Obama’s. The candidate they fear the most is the one they try to destroy the most.
Dimwitted and blond, huh? Looks to me like you're the one who's dimwitted, and a misogynist to boot. I bet you knock your women around.
And I'm LMAO at you pathetic Romneyites...
How do I know?
Because I’m a supporter of hers and aghast that she has thrown her support behind Sen. John McCain. The majority of her supporters have no love for the Senator.
McCain has a progressive think tank (online site www.thereforminstitute.org) which is supported with donations by George Soros and other lefty organizations. His ‘progressive’ program for fundamentally altering this nation involves open borders and radical enviornmentatlism. Hopefully, you’ll find his think tank as deplorable as I do.
J.D. Hayworth would be far more conservative as a U.S. Senator that John McCain has ever been. And he doesn’t have the support of George Soros!
