And so it begins:

South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head

These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
‘i really dont see sarah picking mitt for VP’...she might if they came in #1 #2
the GOP machinery is VERY effective in getting the Democrat favored candidate, who the Democrats can easiest beat, the nomination. The first 5 primaries are open primaries (apparently in states run by a democrat machine). The crossover vote 'tells america' who the repub candidate will be...which spills over to the next dozen states or so. lemmings
seconded.......that's why she'll end up high (if not highest in the primaries in states with closed primaries).
Democrat Success Plan, until conservatives change their primary system (which can't happen in Democrat Machine controlled state, both red and blue, Primaries)
Romney is the darling of the Democrat machine
She isn’t, in the same sense Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and John McCain are not. This has been explained to you many times. I’m sorry you don’t listen well.
Something to keep in mind, and something the tea Party movement and Sarah Palin pointed out, is over the years there has become a Political Class that is separate and apart from the people. That is what the political parties are about - administering for the Political Class. That means they coordinate and run the political activities of the parties including raising money and selecting the candidates.
State Parties select a hierarchy to administer at the state level and they select the same for the federal level. It is their job to get their parties candidates elected to public office. As part of that they hire political consultants and pollsters, and that is where the rub comes in.
It is part of the job of the consultants to put their fingers in the air to see which way the public wind is blowing. The pollsters provide that information.
We know how easily the MSM can manipulate polls and public opinion and how polling can be done in ways to get the desired data. That is how the Leftist MSM help select the candidates of their opponents.
From that data the consultants always encourage the Republicans to move to "the center", meaning move left, in order to attract the mushy middle moderates. It never seems to occur to them that a strong common sense conservative approach like Sarah Palin's and others would attract even more of those same moderates. That is why McCain's chief advisor, Schmidt ?, Shultz ?, or whatever, worked against her and blasted her after it was over. She went against their beliefs and she was proved right.
Palin humorously quipped that if she needed a bald headed political advisor in the future she would have to hire James Carville.
Palin and the Tea Party movement gave voice to the people separate and above the political class. From what we are seeing now in the political arena is the result of that. The people are winning.
I'll give you that contribution, but the real reason was that the media was 'behind' Carter, and the republican vote was for the guy who was most likely to enjoy beating up on the media, which gave us continuous entertainment for the next 8 years. That said, I'll give you that conclusion came only from my sample of one, me. I see 2012 as I saw 1980, I'll be voting for the person who will most enjoy easily beating up on the media. That will be the person who the media most enjoyed beating up for the previous 4 years, Gov. Palin (Reagan in heels). Since I don't see this changing, I don't see my vote changing just because RPAC claims they've found a 'candidate'.
If you run a guy like Mitt, you may as well run McCain again.
Nope don’t want to see retreds..We need new conservative blood.
she supported mcEverything, when she was with mcNothing...pretty sure she won’t pick McNothing as a running mate.
bottom line!
Amen, I was thinking the same. I don’t think he is old enough yet, or is he?
The RNC is as single minded about RINOS as the DNC is about Deathcare.
Massachusetts is a classic Harvard Business Review case study proving that universal health care will NEVER work. And that applies to any state or country on planet Earth. That Mitt, the business genius, does NOT KNOW that to be the truth disqualifies him for running for office.
That is a perfect picture of Mitt!
If the RNC runs Mitt, it is a guarentee of Obama (or any DEM) winning again...
So who exactly is the RNC working for anyway?
I will not vote for the lesser of 2 evils anymore, there really aren’t 2 parties anymore either. There is “Progressive” and “Progressive Lite”
(guarantee)
the anti-Palin people should try coming up with any more substantive reason to attack Palin. But then most of the anti-Palins suffer from liberalism, which of course, as everyone now knows is a disease.
I wonder how much money Soros Obama is donating to the Romney campaign.
