Man flew plane into IRS Building after setting his house on fire in Texas.
lol-—now I’m going to hell for laughing! lol
“Another thread listing the following link as a possible screed from Joseph Stack”
Joseph Stack, looks like those Muslim terrorists are getting very creative with their names..
REAL fascism would shut down FR in the blink of an eye, noodle Jim Robinson and his staff, and the hunt down registered FR posters for "special attention." Don't kid yourself.
Assuming this guy had a beef with the IRS, his actions didn’t help himself, his family, or anyone else. Just makes him out to be a nutter.
I, for one, do not believe that murder is the appropriate response, even to "legal" abortion.
Also, our Founding Fathers were not vigilantes, which is what the murderers in _Unintended Consequences_ are.
Yeah... Not too well.
If we had to have a revolution to respond to every president I despised, I would have participated in at least 3 revolutions since I was born. Doesn't seem like a reasonable way of running a country to me.
The guy even wrote a suicide/homicide note on the internet before making this final act: Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man... take my pound of flesh and sleep well.
Better click that link and read it fast, before they take it down.
Attempt at idiotic strawman noted.
Also, our Founding Fathers were not vigilantes, which is what the murderers in _Unintended Consequences_ are.
Fighting an out of control government in both cases. Or do you actually approve of government agents acting fully outside of their legitimate authority? For Vigilantes, you have the wrong story. You are thinking Vin Suprynowicz's Black Arrow. Another excellent book.
Doesn't seem like a reasonable way of running a country to me.
Me neither. Which is why we have a Constitution for our Republic. Of course, the government no longer follows the Constitution and we are no longer operating AS a Republic... Which poses particularly thorny problems when you try to peacefully get the system to correct itself by using the system.
When this fails:
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson

Who is Henry Bowman?
Thanks for the “No true fascist” fallacy.

dis is what it sounded like a few seconds before
I completely agree. Congress are the “nutters”.
Attempt at idiotic strawman noted.
Actually, I was agreeing with you on the point that there exists US-gov't sponsored murder in the US. I thought your argument was too restrained.
Also, our Founding Fathers were not vigilantes, which is what the murderers in _Unintended Consequences_ are.
Fighting an out of control government in both cases. Or do you actually approve of government agents acting fully outside of their legitimate authority?
Actually, our FFs were fighting taxation without representation. The colonies literally had no representation in Parliament.
I don't "approve of government agents acting fully outside of their legitimate authority."
Nor do I approve of sedition, seditious talk, or idle chatter about "fightin' da Man" by folks who peddle grand fantasies but who singularly lack the organizational skills and political vision that -- thank God -- our Founding Fathers possessed in full measure.
We do not live in happy times...
Agreed. But flying your plane into the IRS building, or getting your head shot off while playing Revolutionary Patriot, aren't going to make them any happier.
No, more like an anti-religion, Bush-hating, anti-capitalism, wealth-envying nutbag who probably voted for hope and change.
>> Maybe they told him they were going to seize his plane in a tax lien and he was just delivering it. <<
You just wait, the MSM will finally connect the “dots” between the Tea Partiers and the Anti-Tax sentiment out there and they will say this was caused by Palin, you just wait.
Cf. post #119 on this thread. There’s text and a link that should answer your question.
Joseph Andrew Stack.
Ill not bet the farm on that horse thanks.
After reading his manifesto, it is unlikely he would be following the GOP primary with any interest. His hatred of W and the GOP is viceral. Probably a hope and change voter if he engaged in voting at all. OTOH, if he did vote, I would expect he voted for Kinky Friedman in the last gubernatorial race.
Either that or his @$$.
