Kinda hard to support a person for president that hasn't pitched their hat in the ring yet.
Palin is a private citizen, she can do as she darn well pleases as far as I am concerned.
“If this were a game you might be right.”
I am right even though it is not a game.
“Since you see the serious nature of letting the Dems win; permanent terrible damage is done to our country”
Permanent terrible damage was done to our country under 12 years of the Bushes. Less was done under Clinton when we had the “Contract with America” legislators to rein him in.
“while you idiot purists make your point.”
The point is that the RINOs do the same damage as the demonrats...just a little less rapidly and a little less overtly.
If you compromise monkeys managed to win every election with RINOs from here on, the country would still become the Soviet Socialist Tyranny of Amerikastan, just a bit later than the hard left had hoped.
“If we had a Rino as President we would not be seeing the extensive and very difficult to repair damage to our county”
Oh? Then why did we see exactly that under the Bushes? And you have the gall to call people idiots for seeing what you’re blind to.
“so that your egos could sit on the sidelines and say “I told you so.”
Nothing to do with ego. The fact is that if we keep electing RINOs freedom is just as dead as if we keep electing Gramscians.
“I’m sure you don’t care but I don’t blame the rino’s I blame people like YOU for allowing the communists like Obama to be in power.”
Oh, but I do care, because as long as there are too many people who think like you, the left can only win.
The demonrats want to take us to the left; the RINOs want to take us to the left. You support one of those efforts.
“It isn’t a game; stop playing it like its a game before you completely ruin the Country you say you love.”
That’s not even rational. Whether it’s chess or a battle, one tries to win. You demand that we stop trying to win and settle for a slower drift to the left, because it’s somehow better than a gallop.
Fair enough. It's a free country.
“In 2006 voters gave democraps control of congress. ( teach rino’s a lesson)”
No. Some disheartened Republicans stayed home. Very few did so to “teach RINOs a lesson.” However, the major force in the election was election fraud.
“In 2008 same thing, gave democrats executive and Justice.”
Ummm...the electorate gave the demonrats control of the Department of Justice?
Care to elaborate on that?
And, again, millions and millions of Republicans turned out and voted. Far more than properly registered demonrats who only voted once. But again, fraud won the day.
“Where were you and how did you miss all that.”
I didn’t miss a thing. You just read events incorrectly.
“The problem now as I see it we have real enemies, let me repeat, real enemies with total power running our country in the ground. Not because of incompetence as so many keep saying, it is being done systematically and intentional.”
That’s been true since FDR.
“So helping the democrats cut the throat of Republicans has already been done since 2006 through 2008.”
Nonsense. When a Republican presidential nominee gets a total of 27 votes nationwide, it will have happened. When congress consists of 100 dim senators and 435 dim congressbeasts, it will have happened. When the RNC can no longer afford to maintain a single office or telephone number anywhere in the US, it will have happened.
And unless we show them that this is the future they’re staring at, they will keep selling us down the river one RINO at a time.
“We all now know what it is like to have someone with no experience in the White House.”
No. It’s not a matter of experience. It’s a matter of character, and of having your head on straight.
Probably 25 percent of the people in any phone book would not only be better than Bam-Bam, Clinton, and Carter, they’d probably do a pretty damn good job.
Given a choice between character and experience, go with character every time.
So true. But your message falls on deaf ears. Given the number of conservative supporters, had she made the honest choice, she could have had great impact AGAINST McCain. Instead, if I’m suppose to accept the excuses made for her here, she continues to set aside her principles to play the typical political game. Well that, or truth be told, she’s been doing it all along because she does support his agenda. We’ll know in time, but neither is good... unless you’re a fan.
Loyalty to the left, lip service to the right.
You do know she donated the money back, don't you? She said so clearly during her interview on Fox News.
I agree with you. These "purity tests" that some conservatives use are absurd. To reject a person because you disagree with them 2-10% of the time (when there is no better alternative) is suicidal, and honestly, a bit childish.
The real point of this story is the pent up anger of the conservative base. This has been building for several yrs and its at the boiling point. The rest of the country is catching up to FR now and its fascinating to watch the old guard of the RNC/GOP DC elites squirm.
“To reject a person because you disagree with them 2-10% of the time”
It doesn’t matter what the percentage is, when the point demonstrates weakness of character or dishonesty.
“(when there is no better alternative)”
You can find a better alternative in any Denny’s in the country at 6 am on any work day.
So calling Sarah out means not supporting her? Yeah, that’s a brilliant strategy.
This is the point that makes pure disconnect out of this article. I can no longer imagine any conservative these days supporting a RINO. If the nation is finished let's end it today and be done with it. I guess I'm as tired as the next person in trying to resuscitate it...or when a hundred people tell us we're dead, maybe we should just lie down.
On the other hand, at this point I don't consider Sarah Palin to be a RINO. I doubt seriously I will consider that until she starts advocating liberalism. I haven't heard her do that up to this point.
I think there may even be a few conservative politicians with a national following if not appeal. I haven't yet seen one who can move massive blocks of voters the way she can.
I still think the argument is premature. There is an extremely compelling event on this side of the horizon to consider first.
I'm not suggesting Palin is a RINO...but she is campaigning for one...and it brings her judgment into question. I wouldn't discount her over this one issue, but it is a negative choice.
I think there may even be a few conservative politicians with a national following if not appeal. I haven't yet seen one who can move massive blocks of voters the way she can.
At this point I'm not aware of a better candidate, but it's way too early to come to firm conclusions on that account.
I still think the argument is premature. There is an extremely compelling event on this side of the horizon to consider first.
Absolutely.
You Palinties are on a roll. Attacking VP Cheney and Joe the Plumber in the same day. Keep it up......
Joe is right. Sarah has let personality and her good nature cloud her political stand. I can forgive her this error.
You think it was stupid to support the republican nominee that picked her as VP?
That pretty much tells me all I need to know about your thought processes. If thats what you call the process you went thru to derive at your conclusion. To be able to reach such a conclusion, I would guess you must be a Huck fan.
Because it takes blind faith....
"I WUVVV SARAH!!!"
and
"SARAH IS A RINO! I HATES HER FOREVER!!"
Sarah Palin is a politician. She's going to say and do things you agree with, and things you don't. When primary time comes round, if her name is on the ballot, we're all going to have to weigh those things she has done and said, and choose accordingly.
Why that's so hard a concept for so many Freepers is a mystery to me.
Troll? I think not.
If McCain hadn't picked Palin she would be unheard of east and south of the Chilkoot Pass. For her to fail to acknowledge that in any and every way she can would show a lack of class of staggering proportions. So far I haven't seen her do or say anthing that lacked class.
Maybe before it's over we will see that McCain did present a gift to the United States, and that gift is Sarah Palin.
