Where does this fit in the great hierarchy of authenticity politics? Sarahcuda may be the most salt-of-the-earth pol on the American landscape but shes also an internationally famous celebrity and multimillionaire. Surely a blue-collar Joe whos been known to fix toilets outranks her. Does that mean shes now been formally excommunicated from the church of true conservatism as I suspected or did yesterdays NASCAR appearance imbue her with some sort of impregnable authenticity forcefield?
More importantly, does this mean Meggie Mac was right?
Wurzelbacher touched on several different points during his speech, and many of them were surprising. He said he doesnt support Sarah Palin anymore. Why? Because shes backing John McCains re-election effort. John McCain is no public servant, he told the room, calling the 2008 Republican nominee a career politician.

“Thats dumb. In her heart, shes not supporting him.”
you’ve got to be kidding. She was always the more exciting version of McCain. He wouldn’t have picked her if he didn’t think that she could work with him. They are both Teddy Roosevelt style populists.
I wouldn't have guessed...
That won’t be enough once Iran has the nuclear bomb. That’s the 800 pound gorilla in the room. You’re not going to be able to deal with Iran just with tax cuts and great speeches.
Thats the problem with eggheads they look down on the comman man and run the country down the tubes. I also used spell check and it let this pass.
In 1962 Lodge did not reside in California, in 1968 he was in the Diplomatic Corp.
No other president stopped Iran. So why not give Sarah a try?
Spell check doesn't recognize context. Always read what you write. I learned that early on at the office, and on here. lol
This is where Conservatives often fail — they shoot their own. Sarah Palin is a solid Conservative. She is campaigning for McCain because she made a promise she would. I don’t like it, I don’t agree with her — but THAT won’t keep me from supporting her. NOR should it keep any solid Conservative from doing the same!
Seriously, if we have to agree with each other on every candidate we may or may not support, on every point of every principle, then we’ll sabotage ourselves, and never achieve our aims or accomplish our goals!
Joe the Plumber needs to think back a bit himself — HE campaigned for McCain in 2008. He held his nose to do it surely, but he did. Why can’t he give Sarah the same latitude? Why can’t other Conservatives do that too? If they don’t, don’t blame Sarah for the results. Self-defeating Conservatives will be to blame.
What do you do with texting? Also during events like the state of the union when you have no time to check.
My argument is that you don’t drop someone for one mistake.
This really does change things, and the overall FR response only makes it worse:
(Paraphrased)
If you don't support Sara - you ain't shi!...
If you don't support her now you were never a real Sara supporter...
She doesn't really mean it, it's just loyalty...
We've been trying to find a way to dump Joe the Plumber...(thanks for playing)
Where do you come up with this stuff?
Sara Palin is NOT the conservative litmus test! She can make mistakes just like anyone else and those errors could well define her chances in or for 2012.
McCain, on the other hand, is Juan McPain no matter how or why you measure him.
How's about; He handed an election to a bunch of socialist thugs because he didn't try, he didn't represent the core, and he championed at least a couple of hallowed liberal goals.
The ONLY thing he has done to earn my vote was the selection of Sara Palin as a running mate and like most conservatives I gave him my vote as a result.
If Sara opts to remain in his pocket, for any reason whatever, she's slipped into real, real, shaky territory.
Deal with it.
If this were a game you might be right. Since you see the serious nature of letting the Dems win; permanent terrible damage is done to our country while you idiot purists make your point. If we had a Rino as President we would not be seeing the extensive and very difficult to repair damage to our county so that your egos could sit on the sidelines and say "I told you so."
I'm sure you don't care but I don't blame the rino's I blame people like YOU for allowing the communists like Obama to be in power. It isn't a game; stop playing it like its a game before you completely ruin the Country you say you love.
Who gives a crap about the "conservative cause." I care about the PERMANENT DAMAGE TO OUR COUNTRY and all you people can see is that you are justified in the end. It isn't a damn game where you get to say I told you so. People like Obama can make PERMANENT damaging changes in the Country.
The Republicans need someone with a business experience, military experience, and political. If the Republicans pick Palin, then I am afraid she will lose. Then we have to deal with Obama another 4 years.
The candidate in my opinion has not come on the scene yet.
Didn’t Sarah endorse John McCain before J. D. Hayworth ever entered the race? I thought J.D. only actually go in least week, and she endorsed John McCain several weeks ago. It’s not like she’s rejecting J.D., simply, as I said, being gracious about McCain’s previous support of her.
There is no one with those creds in the GOP field. Sarah Palin is the closest to what you are asking for.
It should concern you too that she endorses McLame over JD Hayworth (a true conservative). I am concerned that the right is falling for Palin like the left did for Obama.
The next president I believe is not on the scene yet.
Yea, I know, she is being loyal... right, the guy stabbed her in the back and treated her like dirt and she is supposed to stick up for him? That is foolish beyond belief.
I am more concerned that a lot of people are falling for the left's full and ongoing war against our best candidate.
