I’d like to think that Tony Dungy can rise above skin color to adhere to what he claims are his principles no matter what, but maybe I’m wrong. He was also interviewed by Rush Limbaugh on Rush’s radio show when his book first came out. It’s hard to imagine a devout Christian supporting someone who believes in late term abortions but I could be wrong.

Perhaps skin color is more important than your faith. I’ll give Tony the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was caught up in the moment. If he really does get into politics, then we’ll see. From the comments of Powell, my guess is that he does not want to get into politics. Might be smart if you profess something publicly, but can be swayed by someone who has the same color skin. Kind of gutless.

It looks like Indiana does allow the caucus process.

Did anyone see the photos of Obama returning from Camp David last night? He was originally supposed to be there until this afternoon or this evening.

NBC is reporting Reid didn’t know about this until after it hit the wires. I will bet Obama only found out last night.

Regardless of how Bayh presented himself as working to support Obama and the party, this was a complete stab in the back, and a very public one.

It would be interesting to ask him about his vote, because he was awfully smug about it.

IIRC, he wasn’t even one of the so-called “hold out’s”.

Since the filing deadline in Friday at noon - does that mean the Dems might not even have a candidate in this race come November??!

Now if only we could get a good Conservative to replace him like Frmr. Congressman John Hostettler (who is a Christan, Strict Constitutionalist and Conservative)!

Have you heard about this? Apparently some unknown Dem is trying to get the signatures to make the ballot. If she makes it, it would apparently rob the party of the chance to appoint a candidate. Do you think it's worthwhile to help her out?

They did report that Bayh told Obama before the presser. You may be correct.

Aside from getting millions of dollars for board meeting attendance, what do professional board members do?

I’m not 100% certain but I think the dem party can select their own candidate for the general if no one ran in the primary. Still waiting to get confirmation on that either way.

It is a tribal thing. 97% of blacks voted for Obama. The only time race doesn’t matter for blacks is when the Rep candidate is black. Then they vote Dem regardless of race.

Yes!!!

And I can't help but to repeat myself, on President's Day too! LOL.

I have a brand new respect for Evan Bayh, separate and apart from his politics.

Spoke with our county clerk. The laws may be available on website or she’ll get back to me tomorrow. THERE IS a difference in whether he withdraws between the primary and election or withdraws before the due date.....

The worrier side of me wonders if these “retirements” are part of a plan.

I hear that, but I think the dems are basically acting out of chaos now. Rahm's strategy for getting dems elected in conservative districts the past couple of cycles was a plan. Obama's campaign was a plan. The Obamacare push was a (bad and failed) plan.

What the dems are going through now is reactive, and a desperate attempt to deal with huge pushback from the country.

That plan won’t work: We won’t let him forget about his vote for DEATHcare!
