I’m sure his remarks will be available online soon.

He threw a couple of standard remarks to Obama, but emphasized working on lowering the deficit.

My take, he does not want to be part of the idiot democrats in the senate and he has no use for Obama.

Bret said that in part of his statement he mentioned being an executive at heart.

Whoa, Bayh's last public remarks to Obama were, according to Brett Bayer, "Why should the Democrats be trusted" in regards to the mounting deficit.

This was just at the beginning of Feb. Pretty telling, I'd say.

I wonder if this guy is going to primary Obama.

Count on it. Bayh has been grooming for POTUS as long as I can remember. He reminds me of John Edwards, sans the Southern drawl.

NOTE: His comment about working with OBama was followed by material that was the opposite of what Obama stand for.

Can’t wait to see the exact copy.

Betcha he’s running for President. He probably sees one or more of these scenarios as a strong possibility:

1. Obama goes into 2012 with a 30% approval rating. Bayh knocks him off in the primary and becomes POTUS.

2. Obama gets defeated by Palin in 2012 and she is unfit for the office. Bayh defeats her in 2016, positioning himself as red state moderate who is between the “extremes” Sarah and Barack.

3. Obama gets defeated by some other, (currently) less derided GOP figure like Romney or Ryan. They are overwhelmed by the crises Obama has either caused or ignored, have a rotten first term and are defeated by Bayh in 2016.

Plus, in the latter two scenarios, he can spend six years as the Dem equivalent of Palin: Good looking person from a red state who can comment from outside the Beltway and take advantage of populist fervor.

“Evan Bayh won’t seek re-election, Senate majority in play?”

Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek re-election this year, a decision that hands Republicans a prime pickup opportunity in the middle of the country.

Well, "the jobs bill" was reportedly bi-partisan, but I was thrilled Harry slashed it. Idiot Republicans had no business going-along-to-get-along.

“an executive at heart.” Sounds like another run for gov or a 2012 challenge to Obama.

If you were, you’d have to be careful not to get in the way of the vultures that are circling overhead of the CORPSEman in Chief!

He didn't want to be part of the idiot democrats in the Senate?

Then WHY did he vote for the government takeover of the country's health care industry???

HMMMM???

Isn't voting to shove Obamacare down the throat of the country on a strict party-line vote the ULTIMATE in being part of the idiot democrats and having "use" for Obama??

I agree. That speech sounded like the start of a campaign run, and I don't mean for Governor.
