JUST BREAKING....RED STATE DEMOCRAT RETIRES.
Do they just need that to run in the primary? Is it possible for the D party to just pick a candidate to run in the general?
While I like the idea of getting control of the house and senate, I would also like to have an opportunity to purge RINOs in the primaries, even if that results in the Dems picking up a couple of RINO seats while losing other seats.
No one knows where all that Porkulus money actually went. Add that to members of congress who have announced they are leaving politics. Makes me wonder.
Interesting... “Because signatures to qualify for the ballot are due tomorrow, no Democrat will formally file — leaving the seat vacant and allowing the state party apparatus to choose the candidate.”
state party apparatus to choose the candidate.
Don’t think that can be done unless a person withdraws after the deadline, not before.
Will see what happens,,,,,, but I think Bayh screwed the rats good.

Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek a third term, giving Republicans a prime pick-up opportunity in Indiana.
Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek a third term, giving Republicans a prime pick-up opportunity in Indiana.
Washington (CNN) Sen. Evan Bayh is expected to announce Monday afternoon that he will not seek a third term in the Senate, a source close to the Indiana Democrat told CNN.
The senator has scheduled at 2 p.m. ET news conference in Indianapolis.
“After all these years, my passion for service to my fellow citizens is undiminished, but my desire to do so by serving in Congress has waned,” Bayh will say, according to the senator’s prepared remarks that began circulating after the news broke that he was retiring.

Sure sounds like he has other plans:
“After all these years, my passion for service to my fellow citizens is undiminished, but my desire to do so by serving in Congress has waned,”
FYI,

.....In prepared remarks, Bayh, 54, cited excessive partisanship that makes progress on public policy difficult to achieve as the motivation for his decision....
Boo hoo!
Im hoping Nevada Reids the Tea Leaves.
~~~~
Great campaign slogan: REID THE TEA LEAVES!
he didn’t really screw over the party...now the party gets to say who runs.
LOL.
Carl Cameron on FNC (again). Reports Bayh said "he's an executive at heart," and speculates he might run against Obama in 2012.
Cameron is misreporting the deadline is Friday. UGH.
Bayh to come to the microphone sometime soon....in less than 1 hour.
Yeah. Wasn't Dorgan supposed to have a safe seat before he said he would quit?
Or worse.
I wonder if Hussein is thinking of dumping Biden in 2012 and replacing him with Bayh for his VP....
MMMM? If Tamyra is already on the ballot the party can’t choose. But is she running for state senate of US senate?
looks like Tamyra is on the ballot.
Amy Bishops cousin is the campaign treasurer.
What a difference a year makes.Amazing!
“Don’t know if this is the way it works or not.”
It DOESN’T...
In Indiana, the Sec of State runs the Primaries, NOT THE PARTY.
No Candidate filed means the seat goes UNCHALLENGED in November!!!
Well that’s gonna leave a scar.
This does not look like a good year for Democrats, does it?
Thanks for the ping!
