there is a deadline of June 30, 2010 "for the Democrat or Republican party to fill a vacancy on the general election ballot due to primary election ballot vacancy."
....so, I'm not sure.

No, the dems can slate a candidate for November at their Party Congress in August. This is not an unopposed seat.
