PHOENIX, ARIZONA. FEBRUARY 14, 2010. Presidents Day will be the day an almost-President will formally feel a hard charge from his right.
Conservative former Congressman and talk radio host J.D. Hayworth will announce his campaign for the U.S. Senate, a seat now held by the 24-year incumbent John McCain, at Hayworth's new campaign headquarters in Phoenix.
Republican stalwarts, Team Party patriots and a few surprises will be on hand.
The Hayworth campaign will also launch a Money Bomb on Monday too. Details about this online fundraising effort can be found at www.JDforSenate.com, which formally debuts with Hayworths announcement.

On the other hand, perhaps she has given the issue more thought. A flipflop is a quick turnaround. I’ll even give McCain the benefit of the doubt — he might be seeing the snow and believing what he sees. But he’s not a visionary. And Palin is not exactly perfect on her immigration position now, clearly.
Good one!
"Honorable" John also seriously contemplated offering the Veep (nominee) spot to Lieberman in '08.
LOL - Sure.
In what world is McCain a conservative?
I rarely change opinions on these matters but the response to what I said has been outright incredible. I guess I took the short memory approach (He has been a real conservative since the election crapping on Obama’s policies whenever possible (specifically porkulus, healthcare and GM)). It is probably true however that he did this more as an opportunist than as a conservative. All what has been said to me reminds me that when the time comes for cap and tax in year 3 of this nightmare of a Presidency we do not need “useful idiot Republicans” to give the bill bipartisan support. I don’t know much about JD Hayworth but thanks all for reminding me the debacle that is Juan (You have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency) McCain
It’s time to put up or shut up...If JD doesn’t make this moneybomb and exceed it, it will embolden McCain...I’m asking from everyone here to send at least $25....I’m begging actually....I’m working very hard on the ground...so many here have asked AZ to get rid of McCain..but JD needs money...Let’s show McCain we mean busienss, or he’s just gonig to do what he always does...talk conservative before the election and then make us bend over after....PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE send money to JD.
Overnight, JD only has collected 3,000. This is terrible. McCain will have a nice big laugh over this...START DONATING, please...and I promise we’ll do what we have to hear in AZ...
And were not that into you either so sit down and STFU.
The RINO, who lives to work with his "friends across the isle", is going down.
DONE and ping
Just donated.
;^)
I want to be part of McCains defeat and the marginalization of his moronic daughter.
Me, too. He and his daughter need to ride off into the beautiful Arizona sunset...on the same horse.
I'm honored to have been part of the process. And am officially impressed with your open-mindedness -- a rare commodity around here.
...or drug behind it...
;^)
I just donated $25 for a Senate campaign in another state. That state is thousands of miles from mine. It is a GOP primary, not even a general election. With all that being said, I agree with another on this thread that there is no better way to send a message to the GOP establishment that we are sick of milque-toast “conservatives” like McCain who are really anything but conservative. Not only do the demonRATs need to be shaken up, but so do the Pubs. I cannot imagine a better way to do so.
bttt
Um.....yeah. Another post like that and we're cutting off internet access from McCain campaign HQ.
Done!
Two recent items to remember about McCAin:
Hayworth creams McCain in AZ GOP insider straw poll - 68% to 10.5%.
Multiple sources are reporting that JD Hayworth overwhelming beat Senator John McCain among the Republican faithful at the Maricopa County Republican Committee elections today.
The straw poll showed that the former congressman and conservative, JD Hayworth, beat Arizonas senior senator 68% to 10.5%. The poll reflects the growing dissatisfaction by grassroots and elected precinct committeemen even in John McCains home county.
AND
McCain strikes another blow to freedom! Legislation alert!
John McCain spent the last 8 years campaigning for president. The only things he managed to involve himself with were investigating doping in sports, pushing an amnesty that his base didn’t want and humiliating everyone on the conservative side of politics.
But no, that’s not enough for John. Now he’s introduced S 3002.
The bill is touted as a protection against natural supplement products, but fails to provide safety and implements only more expensive regulation and takes your freedom of choice.
: Bill filed as Senate Bill S 3002. Follow it at: http://www.thomas.gov and search for that bill number.
