Those shown here fabricated from gold look to me like work in the goldsmith’s studio. It seems to be stuff right off his bench but never included on an actual weapon.
He was a fantastic artist, multiple layers of competence above me.
Do you have a catalog?
There are no words! Who were the goldsmiths? Where were these items made? Some of the figures are very much like the Book of Kells. Breathtaking just doesn’t describe them. Is there another superlative?
