Al Gore has a new argument for why carbon dioxide is the global warming boogeyman -- and it’s simply out of this world.
Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday with yet another one of his infamous slide shows, Gore observed that the carbon dioxide (CO2) in Venus’ atmosphere supercharges the second-planet-from-the-sun’s greenhouse effect, resulting in surface temperatures of about 870 degrees Fahrenheit.
Gore added that it’s not Venus’ proximity to the Sun that makes the planet much warmer than the Earth, because Mercury, which is even closer to the Sun, is cooler than Venus.
Based on this rationale, then, Gore warned that we need to stop emitting CO2 into our own atmosphere.

There are endless billions to be made brokering carbon offsets. They aren’t going to quit. If they could close the deal with “global warming” then its global warming. If that doesn’t work, they’ll trot out “climate change”. If that doesn’t get it, they’ll keep coming up with one pretext after another until they manage to throw something up against the wall that sticks.
Controlling carbon means you control every aspect of everything from the greatest decisions of industry right down to the most intimate personal decisions you make in your home, nothing is beyond the reach of carbon law. And carbon offset trading lets you take a percentage of everything everyone ever thinks of doing from now to eternity, they have to ask you for permission to do it and then they have to give you a cut up front for doing it.
With that much power and that much money on the line they are never going to give up. Gore is a buffoon. But behind him are some very serious people.

By Algore’s reasoning, Jupiter should be the hottest planet, since it has by far the most greenhouse gases.
They were teaching this back in 1989 in High School Science to me. Basically, it is argued that Venus has a runaway greenhouse effect. This has more to do with the fact that Venus has a much denser atmosphere than Earth than it has to do with any man-made globull climate alarmism. Obviously, Venus doesn’t support life, nor has man had anything to do with it’s atmosphere. This is nothing more than a false analogy.
Al Gore knows Mercury has no atmosphere. Al Gore knows water has a cooling effect on a planet and Venus has no water. The atmosphere on Venus is 90 times greater than the atmosphere on Earth. If we were beamed to the surface of Venus we would be crushed immediately. And Venus is over 25 million miles closer to the sun.
Hmmmm.

Really the most specious global warming argument I’ve ever heard, and that’s staying something.
The inconvenient truth is carbon dioxide is good for life. It’s what provides carbon for the bottom of the food chain making every other living thing possible. That’s why on a world in-between two other worlds dominated by carbon dioxide atmospheres Earth has only a fractional amount. Life uses it up!
The Left truly wants to be led by the hand. No independent thought, no questions, no counterpoints, just mindless obedience. To be ruled by kings and guided by idiots.
Venus is also a third of the way closer to the sun, has an atmosphere 100 times thicker, is permanently covered with a sulfurous cloud layer and features a day/night cycle a few hundred times longer than ours.
But other than that it’s just like Earth.
Did this ManBearPig bother to point out what percentage of Venus’s atmosphere is carbon dioxide(98%) vs earth’s(0.04%)?
