NBC News Reporter Andrea Mitchell Joins DNC Attack on Palin over Hand-Gate

Andrea Mitchell, identified by NBC News as the network's Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, this morning joined in the attacks on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin over the 2008 Republican party's vice-presidential nominee's use of notes written on her hand during an appearance at the Tea Party Nation convention in Nashville this past weekend.

Appearing on MSNBC's the Daily Rundown, Mitchell lampooned Palin by holding up her hand with scribbling on her palm while castigating Palin for criticizing Barack Obama for his reliance on TelePrompTers.

Co-host Chuck Todd, who can usually be found on his knees in front of Obama, surprisingly tried to defend Palin by saying, "We've all done notes."

Mitchell was having none of that, though and insisted this was a capital political offense.

attacked yesterday by Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan for having the words, "Energy, Tax Cuts, Lift American Spirits" written on the palm of her left hand during her Tea Party appearance.

Palin responded to her liberal critics yesterday by writing "Hi Mom!" on her left palm during a campaign stop for Texas Governor Rick Perry's reelection bid.

Since the leftists are looking for ANY thing to jump on, Palin should use her hands as a billboard.

She should write a different talking point on her hand at each speaking engagement, making sure that the cameras get a glimpse. At some point the media will realize that they are being used.

Stunning isn't it? Many people who have given public speeches (including me) have been known to jot a few words on index cards or even on the back of their hands as a mnemonic device.

And yet, Sarah Palin is once again set upon by a snarling, rabid news media who hold this man to no standard whatsoever because they are his virtual house pets and lick his hand daily for table scraps:

Andrea, lets talk about your husband screwing up the economy, first. Second, lets talk about odumbo needing a telepromter for a speech in a elementary school. Sarah, using a few things scribbled on her hand, maybe it would have been better for a couple of index cards. But, I think it was a fantastic speech, with four things scribbled on one hand. TOTUS has trouble getting POTUS to read word for word a speech that was tooled and retooled and retooled. So, Andrea, F U and your husband.

Too silly and ridiculous to even discuss or call any attention, much less lambaste. It is the desperate need to come up with anything resembling news for 24 hours a day; and all the readers/commentators need to find bits where ever possible. Sarah is an attention getter for sure.

So I believe Andrea choose her to make a silly criticism regarding an absolute irrelevant issue.

Obama can not speak to children without a teleprompter. Give me a break.

Nonsense. You are correct that “they” will take the smallest thing and use it against her, but “nit-picking” such as this does not hurt Mrs. Palin and in the end will likely help her as it displays the hatred and pettiness of the left-biased “MSM”.

The “average” American understands crib notes. To state that this would disqualify her from being “presidential material” for inadvertently making the fatal political mistake of displaying her crib notes while bashing TOTUS and his utter dependence upon using teleprompters only comes off as an elitist statement that shows an overall dislike of Mrs. Palin regardless of this non-issue.

Anyone who would believe that the left-biased MSM would provide cover for ANYONE on the right over any subject would seem to me to indicate self-delusion and a distinct “grasping at straws” argument for use in buttressing an absurd point of view.
