WASHINGTON, D.C. - A stung U.S. Sen. Scott Brown lashed out at U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy today for insulting his landmark win by calling his candidacy a joke.
Brown said Kennedys remarks are mean spirited, especially coming on the day he was celebrating being sworn into office.
I was elected and the votes are certified and Im here to do my job. Its unfortunate that he would use mean-spirited comments like that at a time when were just trying to solve the problems of the Commonwealth, Brown said today on his first full day on the job.

Actually I think this was the perfect smack down of the commie pig boozer & druggie Patrick Kennedy. It was perfectly understated but carried a tremendous intensity & truth of Brown’s statement, and really showed Patrick Kennedy to be a spoiled, petulant, cry baby & sore loser. That fact must have sunk into Kennedy’s staff at least, as there was no further response from Kennedy or his staff. I think they realize that ANY further response from Kennedy would just reinforce the perception already there, that Patrick Kennedy is just a whining sore loser and would drop him even further in the polls.
Defend yourself at every turn and call them down for the nastiness.
Absolutely 100% correct! For eight years, Bush allowed the demoRATs and the media to pound on him unmercifully for every single thing, and not once did Bush really stand up and hit back at them. Even now, when 0bozo spreads enormous lies about Bush's economy (5-6% unemployment) but 0bozo's economy is now 17-18% unemployment and massive deficits, GW Bush STILL will not respond or call 0bozo a flat out lying SOB. Even Senate or House Republicans should scream & holler back for 0bozo's lies and they just won't do it.
So I think it is a breath of fresh air to actually see a Repub like Brown hitting back at boozer & druggie Patrick Kennedy with a perfect understated reply but tremendous power & intensity. What is Kennedy to do now? Any further response on his part will only fan the flames that he is spoiled brat, petulant loser. It is win-win for Scott Brown and lose-lose for the pig Patrick Kennedy.
Hey Patches?
Your dead fat Daddy was elected to the PEOPLES seat on November 6, 1962 and was sworn in the NEXT DAY!
So what’s your effin problem punk?
STFU Patches.
“Patrick Kennedy looks (and seems to act) like a child.”
All the Kennedy men were/are basically “children” going through a stage of perpetual adolescence. Some to a greater degree than the others.
Maybe something like “Well, that’s probably just the dope talking”.
So if ten more nobody congressmen criticize Brown, he’s going to respond to each of them, individually? And then ten more, twenty more?
Get real.
Big fish fight the other big fish.
There’s a right path between never responding (like Bush), and commenting on every little jerk out there. Brown needs to find that line, or all he’ll be doing is responding to critics.
Yeah, the wife reminded me right away, isn’t he the one who is a drunk and was crashing his car outside the Capitol? I said oh yeah, but hey democrats have no shame. So it doesn’t matter what a total mess he is, he’ll still throw stones.
perhaps a sense of entitlement is giving Kennedy too big an ego.
End the dynasty of corruption....
The only thing I didn’t like about the Brown swearing in was that he was forced to stand next to J Fn Kerry the entire time. Hope he went home and took a shower.
As if Kennedy isn't "in the tank" for the socialist...er, democrat party.
mean spirited is a term for sissies.
++++++++++++++++
Better than saying nuthin’ - like most national profile pubbies have a habit of doing.
“There was talk of naming the uni-health bill after Ted K
but now Kennedycare is known more accurately as Obamacare.
Teds legacy is that the bill is squashed for now, plus
a Republican takes over in Teds place!”
Isn’t that BEAUTIFUL?
“If we have learned nothing from George W. Bush its that failing to defend yourself/remaining silent in the face of lies and mean-spirited...DOES NOT GAIN YOU ANY RESPECT.”
And especially with the RAT press, and the RATS in general, who will not respect you no matter what you do, say, or DON’T say...
This is where he shows that when they need him, hes in the tank for the Republicans, Kennedy is quoted as saying.
Patches....Hello. I think Brown is a Republican.
+++++++++++
He’s still crying about the Kennedy’s spilt milk. Plus he’s next.
Thanks for that onyx.
Will there be a Brown ping list, like the Bibi ping list?
With a Rule?
Scott Brown fires back at mean-spirited Patrick Kennedy
Its unfortunate that he would use mean-spirited comments like that at a time when were just trying to solve the problems of the commonwealth, Brown said just after entering the Russell Senate Building for the first time as a U.S. senator. I was elected, and the votes are certified, and Im here to do my job.
Browns slap at Kennedy came during a frenzied first day that featured a whirlwind tour of the Capitol and the equivalent of freshman orientation.
Kennedy (D-R.I.) told The Hills Blog Briefing Room on Thursday, Browns whole candidacy was shown to be a joke today when he was sworn in early in order to cast his first vote as an objection to Obamas appointment to the (National Labor Relations Board).
The son of the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy alleged that his fathers successor is in the tank for the Republicans, but Brown has denied any hidden agenda in moving up by a week his Feb. 11 swearing-in.
A procedural vote Monday on President Obamas pick for the board is expected to be among the first votes cast by Brown, who arrived at the Capitol yesterday at 9:40 a.m. with wife Gail by his side.
Im here to start working, Brown said. We have to get our office up and running. . . . Im here, ready to go. I have a whole morning of briefings.
On the agenda were a series of 30-minute cram sessions by the Senates human resources attorney and the U.S. Capitol Police, followed by lunch in the Senate dining room and a tour of the Capitol led by the Senate historian.
Jovial staffers buzzed about his transition office, where the calls began flooding from well-wishers around the nation at 7 a.m., the first from Oregon, then California.
They contemplated asking the staff of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to help man the phones, inquired about Browns parking space and where his hideaway office in the Capitol would be located.
Youre a popular man, Senator. The phones havent stopped, one staffer told Brown as he arrived.
The arrival of Browns BlackBerry was followed by bagels, care of multitasking chief of staff Steve Schrage.
Brown was already weighing in on a job-creation bill anticipated next week from Democrats, who are angling for swift bipartisan approval.
Id like to see it - it hasnt been given to the Republicans at all to look at, Brown said. And if it includes tax increases, Im probably not going to vote for it.
Brown added, Im hopeful it includes some across-the-board tax cuts, targeted tax breaks, some workforce development grants, some other types of things that would kick-start manufacturing.
- - - -
And if it includes tax increases, Im probably not going to vote for it.
I am thinking about starting a Scott Brown ping list for “important” news....
LOL.
I think you’re being ridiculous.... there are not going to be 10 more....then 20 more, etc. Patrick Kennedy was acting like a spoiled petulant child who struck out at bat, and now is acting like a cry baby. Scott Brown was dead on accurate to characterize Kennedy’s comments in this way. We have already seen what 8 years of unrelenting smears, lies & attacks did to GW Bush & the Repubs who never once responded to counteract the lies & smears. Following your line of argument between never responding & responding, what makes a big attack vs a little attack? The demoRATs & commie pig 0bozo respond to EVERY comment or allegation or attack. We’re at war with the the socialist demoRATs and we cannot afford to let up on the bastards for even a moment.
I think it was a great response. Very diplomatic. Definition of diplomatic = ability to tell someone to go to hell and they say thank you, I am sorry I was such a jerk.
