Fly by Night, Rush
I never really thought of it as a “breakup song” - but I guess it could be.
Fly by night away from here.
Change my life today.
Fly by night, goodbye my dear.
Ship isn’t coming and I just can’t pretend.
The best, saddest breakup song I’ve ever heard has to be “BEAUTIFUL SADNESS” by Jane Olivor, from her 1977 release “CHASING RAINBOWS”.
Here is the recording, sung by the marvelous Jane Olivor =

Thanks for the link! I love Deep Purple and especially Ritchie Blackmore and that is their best break up song and among the best break ups I’ve heard!
A very pleasant good morning to everyone at the Canteen and to al lour military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.
Tough to call. I lean toward the Cascades because of the “good” memories associated with it. I remember buying the album in New York City while on a school trip from Northeast Pa. Still have it !
Morning coffee bump
Thank you for doing your part to help keep all of us free and safe.
Coffee is always on........
How about a donut?
Cookies?
Veggies?
Sandwich?
WELCOME TO
(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)
Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our AWESOME Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, fatima, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities.
Now for our local DC Metroland weather report
~ Today.....Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 41F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
~ Tonight.....Cloudy skies. Low 28F. Winds light and variable.
Is this weird or what? This system seems to be just like the last big one - in that it came in on a Friday night and snowed all day Saturday.
Then next Tues there's another chance of small accumulation (just like this past Tues).
Guess I'll have to compare once it's over.
You know the drill. I've got to make my rounds before others arrive and take me away. But, you stay right where you are. Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean.........Cause.......if you don't........I'll tell Ma!
Remember, the Canteen is
So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM ....
DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

You are cetainly welcome. He was (is) the greatest.
((HUGS))Good morning, Beach. How’s it going?
Good morning All;
With all of the great songs, I would have thought that Journy’s “wheel in the sky” would been mentioned.
“Thanks y6162 (((((Hugs)))))”
Thanks! What I do?
Good morning, Beachy! *HUGS* How’s it going this morning?
Good morning, Fatima! *HUGS* Has anyone asked for “Softly As I Leave You”?
Last night I broke the seal on a Jim Beam decanter That looks like Elvis
I soaked the label off a Flintstone Jelly Bean jar
I cleared us off a place on that
One little table that you left us
And pulled me up a big ole piece of floor.
I pulled the head off Elvis
Filled Fred up to his pelvis
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone And so are you. 'Round about ten we all got to talking
'Bout Graceland, Bedrock and such
The conversation finally turned to women
But they said they didn't get around too much
Elvis said, "Find 'em young."
And Fred said, "Old Fashioned girls are fun."
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone And so are you.
Later on it finally hit me
That you wouldn't be 'a comin' home no more
'Cause this time I know you won't forgive me
Like all of them other times before
Then I broke Elvis's nose
Pouring the last drop from his toes
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone And so are you.
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone And so are you.
FR sure seems to be moving slow on my end.
Nothing ne4w, it's Thursday, which means tomorrow is FRIDAY!!
Have a funtabulous day!
