The annual event to march in Washington DC as a pro-choice or pro-life participant is happening today. With streets around the National Mall closed, parking restrictions, as well as fourteen bus lines being rerouted and the slowing of commuter trains from Maryland, traffic Disruption in Washington DC is a big concern today.
The National Organization for Women, Choice USA and NARAL Pro-Choice America are gathering at noon at the Supreme Court, 1st Street NE between Maryland Ave and East Capitol in Washington DC as well. The Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade decided in 1973 to make abortion legal in the United States, thus prompting these organizations and the annual January 22nd rally. Abortion and a women's right to choose or not has been at the forefront of political conflict ever since.
For the March for Life rally, Washington Post states: "At about 11:30 a.m., many of the rally participants will march to the Mall from an event at the Verizon Center. This will require temporary closures along 7th Street NW from F Street to Madison Drive. The main rally is scheduled for noon on the Mall at 7th Street NW. At about 2:15 p.m., participants will march to the Supreme Court. The route will take them north on 4th Street NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, then east to Constitution Avenue and up Capitol Hill to the intersection of 1st Street NE and East Capitol Street. Police will temporarily close the route and cross streets to vehicles during the march."
March for Life is also going virtual this year. Visit their website to find out how. Getting to these places in person might be a problem, but for the residents attempting to simply get around, they've got another thing coming.
Terri Schiavo’s family was there and spoke. Also, some pro-life OB/GYNs. The Silent No More woman (I can’t remember her name) gave a very moving speech.

Dearest you! You were there. May God always bless you for being a voice for the most innocent of all, and thank you so very much for your report!
“I dont know why the prochoicers would show up. Their battle is won, they got what they wanted.”
Their blood-lust is insatiable.
You are very welcome! :-)
Our daughter-in-law from Maryland sent us pictures of herself with our son who came from Chicago and granddaughter who came from Detroit. Another son and a grandson were there too, but no pix of them.
Oh .. that’s SO wonderful. Tears at
the Schindler family being there
for Terri .. may she be in God’s
joyful Heaven. Thank YOU for being
there for the sweet innocents.
So glad to hear that report from you, workerbee.
Thanks.
Cspan 2 will have a rebroadcast in full of the speeches starting, I think, at 12:35 tonight....
Ir’s Friday - so may stay up and watch as much as I can since I didn’t see the start of it earlier tonight.
Didn’t know there were so many doctors in Congress (who all appear to be prolife)....loved hearing them speak, especially.
I am going to email capan to express outrage at their mislabeling the march as “anti-abortion” instead of Pro-Life!
The photos are most welcome on the FREEP-A-THON thread. :)
Great job, workerbee! Glad you were there!
Thanks for the EXCELLENT idea.
I'll do that too, and I'll include the heading from the organization and the bing links as well, to PROVE the proper name of the march!!!!
Excellent - cspan is what I meant - typing getting a bit fizzie...LOL....
Hey, no problem,,,lol... I knew precisely you meant c-span.
Workerbee, thanks so much for being there to stand up for the unborn. My teenaged daughter was there, and I hope to make it next time. My daughter also said the pro-aborts were practically non-existent. Being pro-abortion is definitely becoming uncool among a growing percentage of youth, which bodes well for our future!
Maryland PING!
I once visited Notre Dame when an anti-abortion protest was taking place. A cross was placed for each baby who was robbed of life in a certain period of time. I think there were 6,000 crosses. That doesn’t sound like much, but it was a very impressive sight. How about millions of crosses on the mall. That should shake them up.
If 300 thousand showed up supporting Obamacare it would be all over the front page — and the article would be positive.
Why did the journalists have to put a negative spin on a pro-life event?
**If the Supreme Court can reverse the 100 year long suppressions of free speech culminating in McCain/Feingold, we know they can reverse Roe V Wade and all associated court rulings!**
And they could also reverse the euthanasia that started in my state!
