If Brown wins when is the earliest he can be sworn in? Brown says if he wins he will be showing up at the Senate on Friday. Let them find an excuse to not swear him in when he's standing there.

A question for anyone who may know, regarding absentee ballots...
I've seen polls suggesting that Brown won among absentee voters something like 57-43. I assume this is based on responses to pollsters, and that the actual absentee totals haven't been released.
Will the absentee totals be released at 8:00 PM (when the polls close)? Or will they be held to the end of counting?

This is a day conservatives dreamed would never come. Everything is lining up and Intrade projects Brown as having a 72% chance of winning. At the end of the day, we'll find out whether its a blowout or a nailbiter. And please - no more "moral" victories. They won't stop Obamacare.

HUGE turnout already on my little liberal island. Our local Republican committee had signholders out for Scott Brown. There were about as many moonbats holding Coakley signs.
I feel that Scott Brown will win this by 10 or more points.

Only one vote each as we aren't Democrats or anything like that I take it you were breathing? The dead get extra votes as well.
Dead GOP = 2 votes, 1 Dem & 1 GOP (no harm, no foul)
Dead Dem = 2 votes both Dem
Neat system
5 Dead GOP 10 GOP Votes = 10 Dem votes = 0 votes
5 Dead Dems 10 Dem votes x 2 = 20 votes

Fox News just reporting that there may be a surge in the Dow with a Brown win. That would make a Brown victory even sweeter. In your face Obama, the tide is turned.

Tim Murray (D-Lt. Gov. MA) started his interview by taking a shot at Laura Ingraham. He said she criticized every Obama except the Christmas tree decorations.Sometimes I really like Gretchen a lot. I wish she had thrown back that he had a red chinese communist Mao ornament on the tree so there is certainly room for criticism, but we take what we can get.

If its big, the Democrats can't pad it with dead voters. A big win will make it hard for Washington to deny its a vote against Obamacare.

Hereditary senate seats in the United States of America are shameful, abhorrent. Or at least they should be. No Kennedys in the Senate. That’s the way it ought to be. Maybe that cancerous family on the US government is finally fading from influence.

It may be that since, historically, there has been virtually no chance to elect anyone other than a dem that many have stayed home. So I'm not sure that heavy turnout necessarily favors Coakley. It may be that many voters feel their vote actually has a chance today to make a difference... Maybe finding out that it DOES will be enough to bring them out again in the fall.

God truly exists and loves our country. He despises man’s arrogance. Example: The Global Warmers in Copenhagen - God makes it snows like no other winter. Kennedy starts this healthcare debacle...and now they man they will replace Kennedy is a Republican and will hopefully destroy this bill. God has an amazing sense of humor.

I finally realized who Harry Reid reminds me of - Woodrow Wilson. But shorter and dumpier.

UPDATE: Coakley Campaign Removes Signs after Police Called By michaelnoyes on January 19, 2010 Print This Article Print This Article Two Coakley Campaign Signs at the Entrance of the Dorchester Polling Place could violate election laws Michael Noyes, special correspondent for Watchdog.org DORCHESTER, MASS. – An official for Martha Coakley’s campaign removed two campaign signs (pictured right) from near the entrance to the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School polling place after a Boston Police officer responded to a call from an election official. Election Warden Mary Vines viewed the signs after she was questioned by a reporter about the legality of the placement. “That’s not supposed to be there,” Vines said. “It’s supposed to be at the street. We’ve had that problem in the last two elections.” A Boston Police Department officer responded to a call from Vines and spoke with a campaign observer from the Coakley campaign. The Coakley observer then removed the signs. DORCHESTER, MASS. – Residents going in to vote at the Boys & Girls Club polling place in Dorchester this morning were greeted by two Martha Coakley for senate signs lashed to the handrails leading up the steps to the front entrance. Inside the building, election officials brushed off questions about the legality of signs posted for the Democratic candidate at the entrance of the polling place. “How we going to measure them?” said a man who identified himself as the election warden and would only give his first name, Angel, when asked whether the signs were legally placed. “Ask me something that makes sense,” he said. “Are you serious?” An election warden at Sarah Greenwood Elementary School made a call to elections officials when questioned about a Coakley sign posted on the fence that sits just feet from the school building and is at the entrance to the parking lot. “That was there when we opened up,” said the election warden whose nametag identified her as Shirley Montgomery. The election official on the phone referred questions to the secretary of state’s office and asked that reporters leave the polling place. “I have an election to run,” she said, identifying herself as an election commissioner. Signs were also posted near the building at Boston Middle School Academy and Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School. The signs at each location in Dorchester were identical and read “Martha Coakley, U.S. Senate.” Dorchester is not the only city with suspect campaign signs. Special correspondent Ashley Badgley has more here. http://watchdog.org/2010/01/19/a-sign-of-campaign-violations-in-dorchester/

Massachussetts citizens and voters!!! As in our earlier days, your forebears, always stood their ground and manned the barricades in pursuit of independence, freedom and individual liberty. In the Civil War the sons, and sometimes daughters, of Massachusetts fought and died to save the Union and abolish slavery. The first noted “Black” regiment was formed in Massachusetts and performed above and beyond the call of duty in their loyalty to the nation, as they made the supreme sacrifice for the preservation of the Union and freedom from slavery and dignity as human beings. Today, election day in Massachusetts, once again, Massachusetts citizens and voters have the critical path opportunity to set the path of America going forward toward freedom, individual liberty and a bright, sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. Once again, Massachusetts voters have the opportunity to set our nation back on the course of liberty and away from socialism, communism, and facism espoused by Anti-American POTUS Barack Hussein Obama and his lock-step “brown shirt type” Democrat Party. Your choice is clear, your country and fellow Americans by a vast majority urge you to vote for Scott Brown in significant numbers to send a clear, loud message to the Democrat Party and POTUS Barack Hussein Obama that we, the people will not stand still like sheep being led to the slaughter of collectivism and total government control over our very lives. Help us all save America from the hatred and distain preached by Obama’s icon and mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, an America hater if there ever was one. The handrwriting is clearly on the wall. Vote for Scott Brown and send Barack Hussein Obama down the flushing toilet into the black hole of obscurity where he and his leftist ilk belong!!! God bless Masschusetts and God Bless these magnificent United States of America!!!

Just got this from a friend.
“My daughter and I just back from voting in Andover at the local high school. The voting booth ladies had us drop our ballots into a slot underneath the tray through which the ballots normally get tallied. We were concerned and Julie called Scott Brown’s headquarters and the state GOP office. They both said that should not be allowed and are sending people out to investigate.”
“I think you should call one of your contacts!”
The calls have been made. They will not steal this race.
