HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Rush Limbaugh AP Image Rush Limbaugh Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.
Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. He will not be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, sources said.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.
In 2001, Limbaugh received a cochlear implant after he suddenly lost hearing due to autoimmune inner ear disease. Limbaugh underwent treatment in 2003 for an addiction to prescription painkillers, including Lorcet, Norco and hydrocodone.
Wow!! I hope he’s ok.
I’ve planned my work days around listening to Rush for years. Every day my lunch hour begins @ 12:05 sharp, and I’m available again at around 1:15 after his first 2nd hour segment. If something happened to him, there would certainly be a void.
“Hope he has a platoon of body guards.”
Surely, you don’t believe that story about The One and the One-ette having a stuffed voodoo doll of Rush, taking turns stabbing it with an ice pick, laughing and drinking Colt 45’s.
I don’t believe it either. I wonder if the Colt 45 is in cans or bottles.
Praying hard for El Rushbo...
Tried twice. Twice it said it has been disabled. Perhaps from all the Ditto heads sending prayers and wishes. Go get ‘em Rush! Praying for you. You are a hero and have brought this country alive. Thank you. Now get better and get back on the Golden EIB microphone!!!!
If he needs a new heart I would be willing to give him mine
Amen to that. It is not a coincidence this article stressed that little ditty.
Try again. I just got through.
We all love you Rush and pray to god you come back stronger than ever.

Thank you for posting that. It accepted my message even though I didn’t know the floor or room number. I’m sure they know exactly where he is without looking it up.
I was thinking the same thing. May God watch over you, Rush and grant you a complete recovery.
Perfect caption!!! Rahm is right out of central casting for being sleazy, devious, and darn right creepy.
He has been in such pain he has been standing and doing the show. He specifically said he couldn’t take some of the meds he was on before. So, he is either taking something lesser like an anti-inflammatory or it has gotten so bad he is taking something stronger under doctor supervision. The man is in pain. Pills are very easy to become addicted to for those in pain. I have a cousin who has had her life ruined by it. She is a shell. It’s horrible either way. Rush knows what is at stake and he is nobody’s fool. And whatever medic released the information to the pig reporter needs to learn what HIPPA is all about. That salacious bit of gossip just had to make it into the article.
You are fantastic. Thanks for the link.
Prayers for Rush.
In 1962 he had is tonsils removed, and in 1973 he had an in grown toenail and in 1980 he had two cavities.
(Why mention his drug addiction?)
Great! I hope they only print out the nice ones for him.
Me too! What is he doing in Obama territory anyway?
I just went to the link you provided and saw this:
“The Queen’s Medical Center’s EMAIL A PATIENT feature has been temporarily disabled. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Guess their system was overloaded with well wishers for Rush!
Fox news just had a “serious condition” alert. Prayers up.
If someone is suffering from pain, and I mean REALLY hurting, what are they supposed to do? Suffer? Having said that, given his history of addiction, if he had to take such medicines for a true medical ailment, I hope they worked it out to where he could be given the medicines by another party. He shouldn't be 'turned loose' with his own bottle of OC, or whatever he might need to take for his condition, if he has one.
