Contact Rep. Bart Stupak, Rep. Joseph Cao, and the Potential Flip Vote of your choice. If the vote on the final (post-reconciliation bill) goes exactly as it did last time in the House, but with just three people flipping from YES to NO, THIS BILL WILL FAIL.

Again: there were 42 members of the House who voted both in favor of the Stupak amendment to bar taxpayer funding for abortions and in favor of the main bill. Clearly, Speaker Nancy Pelosi couldn't have won passage of health care legislation had the House not adopted pro-life language.
The names below are all of those who voted in favor of both measures, with an asterisk next to those who were considered undecided on the morning of the vote.
To be clear, many of these members would have supported the health care bill no matter what. However, given the 220-215 vote margin on the House vote, what it means is that when the pro-life language is stripped from the bill during negotiations with the Senate, if Pelosi loses the support of any three of these people below as a result -- without picking up anybody else's support -- the bill cannot pass the House.

Bad News: He will, and he won't.
I don’t think Mr. Stupak will be of any help in the end.
I don’t trust any of these people. But I don’t see why Stupak should have gone on with Gretta and said this, unless he did, indeed, intend to vote against this bill unless it has a real pro-life amendment. He could have just stayed quiet and kept a low profile; but he didn’t.
To me, that seems hopeful. Of course we will need a good number of other anti-abortion votes to stick with him. The exact number is unknown, since Pelosi may have given a few people permission to vote “no” the first time who will flip this time if she calls on them.
“Compromising” on abortion always makes me think of the woman who told King Solomon, “OK, let’s split the baby and each take half.”
Yeah, I’ll believe this when it happens. We always hear this then some sleazy deal is cut and voila! The turd passes.
I’m tired of this.
Unlike so many others here I haven’t given up and will write to Stupak. He isn’t my congressman but he’s still better than mine who doesn’t even pretend to care what we the people want.
The content of any federal version of health care is irrelevant since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care. The people are not bound by an unconstitutional act of Congress and do not need to comply. That is the point people should be impressing on the Congress critters!
Wow, a Nelson-Reid amendment. Can you believe that? First Nelson tells his voters he is anti-abortion; then he takes a bribe; then he co-authoris an amendment. What kind if jerk is he?
We have way too many of these sell out coward scum traitors in our Congress today.
I hope Stupak believes and does what he says.

This is just a tactic to lull Americans into unwatchfulness. In the end, the Dems always do what they’re told by the Speaker. Just check the list of all those who said they weren’t going to vote for it—right before they did. They know the sound bite the voters heard was that they were opposed.
They also know most Americans won’t go check to see how they voted afterward. And even fewer will remember to change their votes at the next election.
There were no PUMAs. Lieberman lied. This is just more of the same. Stupak will be brought to the White House and when he leaves, he’ll be voting for the bill. He just might not say so until he votes.
Sorry to be so pessimistic but we have to wise up and start playing offense, not defense with these people.
Barry is a DISEASE!
Thanks, Mrs. Don-o, Go for it, Representative Stupak!
Nanzi has wiggle room. It’s Hairy who doesn’t. Do you suppose the Dim senators from red states could be arrested, charged with anything that would stick for at least a few months, and held until their cases were thoroughly settled? If they didn’t show up on the Senate floor, the Dims couldn’t pass the monstrosity. Legality, schmegality, the task is to stop Hussein by any means.
Since Christmas Day, I’ve been referring to the Health Care Bill as the “alleged” Health Care Bill. Is that politically correct?
“The Bishops have warned that its blatant taxpayer funding of abortion may force them to use their lobbying arm in an attempt to bury the bill on the final vote.”
Whaaaaat? You mean they haven’t been using their lobbying arm all along?
Scandal.
