Then Palin can be the next Cheney with followthrough!...
I just love it when supposed fellow Conservatives call others names. It’s a shame that folks can’t unite rather than harming the country with the likes of Obama and Co. by claiming to take the “high ground”. McCain wasn’t my first choice. I’m far from being a retard. I was able to see that McCain would be better than Obama anyday. If you remember it was Conservatives who put McCain in as the candidate with all their picking apart others. “Conservatives” elected Obama by in-fighting, staying at home, ect. Now who is the retard?
Not sure. But literally thousands of folks, all conservatives, warned all who would listen that nominating a RINO like Rudy McRomney would guarantee defeat. Maybe they’ll listen this time?
Palin as the new Dark Lord? Hmmmm. Interesting thought.
Well said. I think that Conservatives are, by nature, generally fairly polite folk who avoid gratuitous conflict, which is why most will just keep their mouths shut when confronted with leftist nonsense.
It’s time to stop being so polite, because our politeness is granting them tacit approval to strip our liberties.
We must challenge leftist nonsense whenever we see it, even if it means losing friends and alienating family.
Darth Gorgeous.
Tyranny bump
Love both of these fine patriots, but please... Neither has the national stature or charisma to draw enough center-right voters to them to win the Presidency.
Good news is that we have someone with the same excellent conservative credentials, executive experience, and the star power to win the election in 2012.
Same here. Whatever I’ve read about DeMint has consistently been good in my eyes.
Nonsense. The Repubs cant force a vote on anything in this Senate.
+++++++++++++++++++
Sure they can. The others will vote ‘no’ to allow it to come to the floor...etc...just like voting...can be used IN THEIR FACE to futher the Constitutional concerns with all Americans everywhere.
So the Constitution is now up to a simple majority vote in the Senate?
+++++++++++++++
Not just that. Better than burying the USC is some dung heap like the RATS are doing...did you hear PelosLIE’s response to the CNS New correspondent who asked her if gubmint health care was provided for in the USC: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”
With that kind of backdrop, I think a vote in the Senate is warranted and will help to frame the Constitutional issue to the American people who are increasingly incensed by this.
And the Senate that passed it is going to vote on the question? Absurd. Its like having the wolves vote on whether or not the sheep are lunch or not.
++++++++++++++++++++
They’ll vote not to vote on the motion, and we’ll trumpet that.
The Democrat party doesn’t care what the US Constitution has to say.
Why not? Most states already force by law people to buy car insurance.
Well, it better be by amendment, since Dingy Harry will never let a vote on this subject come to the floor by any other means.
The only thing I can think of is that DeMint wants them on record stating that they believe this is Constitutional. Other than that it’s pointless. The dems are absolutely drunk with power coupled with insanity which makes this whole thing very dangerous.
This vote will never happen.
++++++++++++++++
Even their refusal to vote, or voting down this motion, can be trumpeted as a vote against considering the Constitutionality of the individual mandate in Socialism 2010 (the ‘health care’ bill.)
The only thing I can think of is that DeMint wants them on record stating that they believe this is Constitutional. Other than that its pointless.
+++++++++++++++
Demint is fighting in both the press and procedurally, which is a heck of a lot more than most Rs are doing right now...and *that* is NOT POINTLESS.
Up until Marshall dictated Judicial Review out of thin air, all of the branches of the federal government had the responsibility to determine whether something was Constitutional.
Of course the Congress should question itself while writing a law, "Is what we are writing Constitutional?"
POTUS can refuse to sign a bill for the same reason.
But now nobody cares. Bush even signed a law which he said he thought should be overturned by the Supreme Court.
Sad.
