The founder of the website "Free Republic", Jim Robinson, has joined a growing boycott of the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) due to a homosexual activist group sponsoring the event.
GOProud, a group that advocates same-sex "marriage," a repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, and "expanding access to domestic partner benefits" for homosexuals, is listed as a sponsor of the event at CPAC's website.
Mr. Robinson has joined a number of conservative activists including Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., Liberty Counsel founder and chairman Mat Staver, and Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan in their efforts.
On a reply to an article about the boycott, Mr. Robinson stated "I’ll join that boycott. If CPAC is no longer for conservative family values then I want nothing to do with them. They’ll have to change their name to HOMOPAC."

To me, conservative issues always meant low taxes, small government, 2nd amendment, strong defense and constitutional arguments (like the right to life which included the right not to be ripped out of the womb based on lifestyle desires of the mother).
When did being a conservative change to mean adhering to fundamentalist Christian doctrine?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just wondering when you had to subscribe to theological opinions in order to call yourself a “conservative”?

I never laughed at them myself. Most of their concerns were pretty legit. It was their predicted timelines that were somewhat off it seems. A couple decades late in what has happened to the nation that's all. Personally I'd feel quite safe having Birchers as neighbors much more so than a known unarmed liberal or the GOPprouds or Log Cabin GayPackers. I've known a few Birchers in my lifetime. With them you knew you were safe as were your kids around them. They were friends and neighbors you could count on.
I wish more Conservatives would demand an end to the Big Tent compromising. Some issues and values are non negotiable.

I've said on this forum many times that I don't really mind the "big tent" attitude, as long as everyone wants to get under the tent and understand that there are certain principles and core values that hold up the tent.
What I can't tolerate are those who want to seek shelter under the tent and then proceed to saw on the tent poles. That is why I'm pretty much done with the republican party as far as affiliation, and they will not get another dime of my money.
Not a theological opinion. I know lots of gay conservatives who do not support same sex marriage. It has to do with the ordering of a healthy society which is the basis for a free society.
I think most people were tolerant of people with differing lifestyles until they became so much “in your face” wanting to teach it to children in schools, etc.
Calling names and posting those pictures are ridiculous, I agree. I’m sure the GOProud have nothing to do with the stupid gay parades flaunting their silliness.

The GOP will never see my money ever again.
However the likes of Rubio in my state, the likes of Sarah and J.D.Hayworth will see my money.
This republican party wants to go the way of McCain’s daughter and the perverts then so be it but I have left that tent.

He also was a lobbyist for the Seychelles which is a famously notorious money laundering hub and safe retirement place for criminals. He represented them in DC for years.
