December 20, 2009

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) released the following statement today on the status of the health reform legislation currently pending before the United States Senate: “Having been fully immersed in this issue for this entire year and as the only Republican to vote for health reform in the Finance Committee, I deeply regret that I cannot support the pending Senate legislation as it currently stands, given my continued concerns with the measure and an artificial and arbitrary deadline of completing the bill before Christmas that is shortchanging the process on this monumental and trans-generational effort.

Folks....God sent his son as a gift for us (which we will be celebrating this coming week mind you) if he would do that for us what makes you roll over so easy. Now is the time to turn to God in prayer. Ask him to stop this bill. He will either answer our prayers with a yes or a no. (Sometimes he lets us reap what we have sow).
I do not feel this bill would help all those people without insurance.(I believe I read somewhere that 27 million will still be uninsured) and yes may heart goes out to them. There has to be another solution.I do not no what it is at this moment but I do know that I can still go to God......................

Snow played her part in this orchestrated devils take over of America, she allowed it to come to the floor. That’s all she needed to do to screw America and she did it knowing full well she would never have to vote for the bill to bring it to life.

Well, she still sucks, but this beats a yes vote.

Start dialing early on Monday and don’t quit. Hit every Dem who isn’t a total freakazoid. Tell them Barack and Bill Clinton can’t save their careers if they vote for this garbage.

How can the other 48 states challenge the ‘sweetheart’ deals that Nebraska and Louisiana have gotten through their pimp senators?

There has to be some constitutional conduit to challenge the preferential arrangements to avoid the burden that the other 48 states will have to bear.

Folks, this is the part of the program where John Locke’s social contract says it’s time to break the contract and form a new contract. I’m ready to sign on.

Thanks for nothing. This is a feeble symbolic gesture to save some face after already screwing us.

Apparently no one can read or will bother to read. Snowe’s vote in the Finance Committee had zero impact on its progress. Baucus had all the RAT votes he needed.

I don’t think Reid will have his 60 votes.

That is correct. District 1 the lower part of the state including Portland has a true honest to god moonbat for a congresswoman. District 2-north of Portland has a “blue-dog” Democrat with a working class background. At least you can talk to him. The moonbat-forget about it.

As I understand it starting in the mid 1980’s northeast liberals with lots of money moved in along the coast and have created moonbat enclaves. The Republican establishment has not been conservative but many of us FREEPERS are working for individual candidates.
We are starting to field some good candidates for 2010-whether we recapture the governorship is not known at this time.

Hey, it was my understanding during that committee farce that Snowe was THE Repub who could stop it from getting out of committee. Most news talk and internet were reporting it. So I stick with my earlier comment: BINGO.

it is still important because without her vote, they can’t say the bill is even a little bi-partisan

Very true. The Dims own this monstrosity lock, stock, and barrel.

"Thank you for your post and your common sense — something that has been missing around here lately."

Well I like to read intelligent discussion, whether I end up agreeing or not, so if either of you think there are points that are "missing" go ahead and post and share it; like you did here. I mean, can you complain that your point of view "has been missing around here lately" when you haven't posted it? Thanks for posting.

Like we can believe that. Many of us in Nebraska knew Nelson would cave; he’s too much of a party guy not to. Huckabee’s rally will have zip effect on Nelson.

That is a lie. The committee vote was 16-11 or something like that. Baucus did NOT need Snowe’s vote because the RATS have a 15-12 advantage or something like that.

In that case, I guess I can't heap the blame on Snowe and Collins. I still think they're shortsighted, self-absorbed prima donnas.

Big deal...they got Nelson and Lieberman, so they didn’t need the Witches...

Exactly. So now they're trying to save their seats by voting against it. Hah. The people of their states won't forget and hopefully after the next election these two will be out of work.
